I came to this novel expecting a simple LOTM knock-off that would have shitty grammar, mismatched genders, and a copy-paste power system. It's so much more. The author has the right to say they were inspired by LOTM and not that the novel was 'inspired' from it. I'm currently finished with all the free chapters (42 or 41 out of the lower 70s).
Seems interesting enough to stand out from a majority other trial reads, hope this gets picked.
Review is based on the free chapters and more (the timing of the 24 hr free reading couldn't have been any better). A different kind of cultivation mixed with elements of mystery, horror, adventure, supernatural and good companionship! Can't forget the whole gentlemanly and ladylike mannerism. It's quite interesting, really. I really enjoyed this story. It was a nice break from the typical cultivation stuff. The typical MTL shebangs are all present, with the addition of odd page layout (the paragraphs and sentences are broken oddly and randomly...). It's been a while since I picked up a thrilling story 🤔 MC is Yi Chen who ended up in the body of William Behrens after dying from a potential heart attack. The new world is diseased and there are Gentlemen and Ladies who fight for humanity's future. It was worth the binge read lol
Wow just wow this is the closest thing to perfection in this world I can't express how good it is in my half a decade worth of reading this is definitely the best book I have ever read prior to this the highest rating I have ever given is 4 stars only the translation made it a bit shy of 5 stars. I don't want this to be too long but thank u author for letting us the world read such an amazing and thrilling story about our beloved mc
One of the best works i had the pleasure to find in this site. Keep it up and thanks to keep it updated. I would suggest this for the people that appreciate a dark adventurous theme. The world building is enjoyable, the read fluid and captivating. Really keep me waiting for updates everyday.
This is a very good story. I have read it before I reached 322 chapters from 753 to be honest this novel is not for the week of heart or those who have a problem with gory scenes because there is something called first gentlemen and the last gentleman if you understand you understand anyway as I said there is human mutilation for a suit so if you don’t mind this, it’s a very good story what I mentioned is very mild in the story anyway I think I will come back to this but only won the translation reached the 700 S. and I have a chunk to read and I don’t have to wait to read each chapter.
MC a Chinese college student is about to write his thesis when he dies in the lab from exhaustion. He awakens in a recently dead body, and finds himself in a Lovecraft type world with many beings like Cthulu, treating humans like their playthings, containing them into their servants. The world's last line of defense is the G&D, men and women who Become Gentlemen, are those who able to resist the contamination of the otherworldly beings and bound and control the mutations becoming weapons against the otherworldly beings plaguing mankind. The rare select few who are able to see past the veil and remove contamination are the doctors. The G&D fighting to prevent the contamination and subjugation of the human race.
