Bab 30: The Encounter

Crescent arrived at the mural spot on a quiet, laid-back afternoon in the small town. The sun was shining, but it wasn't scorching like in the big cities. A gentle breeze swept through the streets, causing the trees to sway and the leaves to rustle. The air also was filled with the scent of fresh earth and flowers.

She had walked just a couple of miles from the orphanage, enjoying the leisurely stroll through the colorful streets lined with friendly faces. It was a welcome break from the busy orphanage, and even more so from the city life. When Georgi suggested she leave the city and join his brother in the army camp to participate in their outreach programs, she wasn't sure about it at first. But spending a few days on the island made her realize it was the best decision she could have made.
