The Attribute Fruits and Soulstones were rare items used to enhance the power of ability users. Different types of Attribute Fruits could raise corresponding attribute levels when consumed, while Soulstones could enhance bloodline levels. Each gift pack contained 10 items, with a 20% chance of yielding higher-grade fruits or stones.
Alex, as usual, was incredibly lucky. From the two packs, he received 9 N-tier Soulstones, 1 R-tier Soulstone, and N-tier Fruits for Agility, Constitution, Perception, and Spirit (two of each), along with two R-tier Strength Fruits.
Currently, Alex's five attribute levels were:
- Strength: A-
- Constitution: C+
- Agility: C
- Spirit: D+
- Perception: D
Since N-tier fruits could only boost attributes up to B-level, he calculated he would need 2 Constitution Fruits, 3 Agility Fruits, 5 Spirit Fruits, and 6 Perception Fruits to reach the limit for all five attributes. Realizing he was short on a few fruits, Alex immediately bought another N-tier Fruit Pack. Once again, his luck was uncanny, as he obtained 3 N-tier Spirit, Agility, and Perception Fruits and 1 R-tier Agility Fruit.
Now, Alex was only missing one Perception Fruit to max out all five attributes, a small shortfall that greatly bothered him due to his perfectionist nature. Without hesitation, he bought another pack, this time receiving 2 N-tier Fruits each for Strength, Constitution, Agility, and Perception, and 2 R-tier Spirit Fruits.
After consuming a total of 16 brightly colored N-tier Fruits, Alex's attribute values experienced a significant boost:
- Strength: A-
- Constitution: B
- Agility: B
- Spirit: B
- Perception: B
In addition to his upgrades, Alex still had 5 N-tier Strength Fruits, 2 Constitution Fruits, 4 Agility Fruits, and 1 Perception Fruit left, along with 2 R-tier Strength Fruits, 1 R-tier Agility Fruit, and 2 R-tier Spirit Fruits.
R-tier Attribute Fruits, like their N-tier counterparts, could boost attributes, but up to an S-level limit. After consuming his five R-tier fruits, Alex saw another slight increase in key stats:
- Strength: A+
- Constitution: B
- Agility: B+
- Spirit: A-
- Perception: B
With these upgrades, the most noticeable change was Alex's health, which had jumped from just over 10,000 to 16,590 points—higher than even when he was fully equipped in the 'Dragon God' set.
But this wasn't the end. N-tier Soulstones could raise bloodline levels up to B-tier. Alex's current bloodline was still at F+ level, and he needed 11 N-tier Soulstones to reach B-level. He was short by two Soulstones, so he quickly purchased another N-tier Soulstone Pack. His luck held as he pulled 8 N-tier Soulstones and 2 R-tier Soulstones.
With all the Soulstones in hand, Alex began upgrading his bloodline.
Unlike the simple consumption of Attribute Fruits, Soulstones were mysterious items that stimulated the user's bloodline, gathering stronger power. However, using them came with certain risks and a fair amount of pain.
Alex wasn't initially sure what this "pain" would entail, but he quickly found out. As he activated the first Soulstone, the crimson gem burst into blinding red light, floating in front of him as if guided by some mystical force. Fine red threads rose from the stone and pierced into Alex's skin through his pores like sharp needles. The sensation was immediate and brutal—it felt as if his blood were boiling, turning into molten lava that surged painfully through his veins.
Fortunately, the process was brief. Within 30 seconds, the first N-tier Soulstone was drained of its power, leaving behind a dull gray shell. When Alex checked his status, he saw that his bloodline had risen from F+ to E-, and his Strength, Spirit, and Perception attributes had each increased by one level.
The effects of the Soulstone were more immediate and powerful compared to the Attribute Fruits, likely due to Alex's SR-tier bloodline. However, despite the potent benefits, Alex was hesitant to continue due to the intense pain.
After resting for about five or six minutes, Alex steeled himself to continue. He knew his current attributes were already impressive, but after hearing Ethan's story earlier that morning, he realized he wasn't strong enough—not yet.
Moreover, he knew that avoiding pain or challenges could lead to a habit of retreating when faced with difficulty, something Alex didn't want to develop. He believed he had been extraordinarily lucky so far, and enduring this trial was a small price to pay for growing stronger.
Once he made up his mind, Alex's determination kicked in. He used all 10 N-tier Soulstones in rapid succession, gritting his teeth through the pain as his bloodline level shot up from E- to B in one go.
By the time the last Soulstone had been consumed, Alex was drenched in sweat, physically and mentally exhausted, but the results were worth the effort. His Strength, Spirit, and Perception attributes each jumped by 10 levels. Additionally, for every major tier leap—such as moving from E- to E—his overall attributes received an additional bonus. By the end of the process, Alex's attributes were as follows:
- Strength: Z
- Constitution: A+
- Agility: SS-
- Spirit: Z
- Perception: Z
His Strength, Spirit, and Perception had rocketed from A or B levels straight past S, SS, and SSS, all the way to Z-level, the highest attainable for SR-tier ability users.
Alex couldn't raise these attributes any further because Z-level was the upper limit for SR-tier potential. Several notification messages popped up as he approached this threshold:
"Player's attribute level has reached the current potential limit. Please upgrade potential before increasing attributes further!"
In just 13 days since the start of the game, Alex had maxed out his SR-tier potential, making his attributes likely among the highest in the world at this stage.
Even Alex was a bit embarrassed by how ridiculously powerful he had become. He didn't know exactly what sort of cheat-like advantage he had, but there was no denying it—he was becoming a super-powered anomaly.
This power surge had only cost Alex a total of 1.5 million Merit Points for three N-tier Fruit Packs and two N-tier Soulstone Packs. He still had 7.4 million Merit Points remaining.
The total accumulated spending from the event had increased by another 35 million, bringing his total to 88.2 million. He was now just 11.8 million away from claiming the fifth-tier reward: the "Billion Merit Pack."
After some thought, Alex decided to purchase 12 R-tier Gem Packs. With his incredible luck, this investment was bound to pay off, and the gems could be stored for future use in enhancing his 'Belos' set.
