Ms Roberts eyes never left Kathleen's face and seeing her so deep in thought, her assumption that there might be some marital issue in the family was confirmed.

From her experience as a seasoned teacher for over fifteen years, children only speak that way when there was problem with the home front.

"I was wondering if you can resolve whatever problems that might …," she trailed off as her eyes darted around the room, avoiding eye contact with Kathleen. The remaining part of her words wasn't hard to guess.

Kathleen released a sharp breath, then said calmly,

"I got your message Ms Robert, and thanks for your keen observations and advise."

She got up to leave but was stopped by Ms Robert's question. "I hope you are not angry with me?"
