Fang Zhi arrived at the police station and immediately embraced Lin Shu upon seeing her.

"I'm sorry I was late," Fang Zhi apologized tenderly, cradling her face in his hands.

However, Lin Shu lifted her hand and brushed his hands away from her face.

"Whenever such incidents happen, you are never on time. I'm used to that now," she said.

Fang Zhi realized he had once again broken his vow.

He had promised to protect Lin Shu, yet every time when it mattered the most, he was never there to shield her from harm.

"What are you still doing here? Why don't you check on your old flame?" Lin Shu said sarcastically.
