Bab 93: Hard To Accept

"I am a demon, Aden." 

Her words, barely audible though, entered my ears. 

"You are a what?" 

To say that I wasn't shocked would be nothing but a lie. I knew that she wasn't an angel, but I never really thought about the chances of her being a demon as well. I was more or less thinking of her as a witch as they are known to be cunning. 

"You are a what?" I spoke up again when she didn't answer me, refusing to believe my ears. I was somewhat hoping that it wasn't what she had told me, and that maybe it was my ears playing tricks on my mind. 

"A demon, Aden. I am not an angel as you have assumed me to be, but a demon." She heaved out a frustrated sigh as she replied to me finally. Her hold on my hand loosened a little before she got off me. 

"You are not dreaming, so come out of it." She added when I continued to stay in the position even after she was no longer holding me in place.
