Bab 85: CHAPTER 85: DARK GOLDEN DREAD CLAW BEAR.
"In that cave, there's a spirit beast… Follow us, then we will lure it out."
"Is that all?" Cai Meier asked as she looked at the dark-clothed man.
'Of course not… this whole deal is obviously suspicious.' Houryu thought as he looked towards the cave entrance. Houryu activated his Sharingan and looked very closely to see a gigantic brown bear with golden claws standing at the entrance of the cave. He then looked even closer to see a puddle of blood behind her and two newly born bear cubs at the back of the cave.
'Oho… so that's why.' Houryu thought as he saw the cubs.
'I don't know how valuable a spirit beast cub should be in this world, but I'm guessing it's pretty high enough for these guys to be throwing this kind of stunt just to get them… but is all this really necessary. Can't they just kill the mother bear and then take the young ones.' Houryu wondered as one of the three dark-clothed men began to say some weird gibberish and the spiritual energy started responding strangely.
His spiritual energy began to flow and turn into some purplish type of aura that was different from normal spiritual energy as it was colder and had a more ferocious feel to it and was also full of killing intent. The energy began to form small skulls and then the dark-clothed spirit master sent it toward the cave.
Before the purple energy skulls could reach the cave entrance, a gigantic brown bear with dark gold marks across its body and dark golden claws, stepped out of the cave standing upright.
It suddenly swept its claws horizontally across as soon as it saw the skeletons coming towards it. Its claws swept heavily, creating a golden flash of light that swept across the trees in front of it, slicing them to bits.
'Damn!' Houryu thought as he watched the trees fly after being sliced by the golden dread claw bear.
The bear returned back to the cave after wiping away the attack, without bothering to even look at who caused the attack. This movement was suspicious to Huo Yuhao's group, as Yuhao quickly used his spirit eyes to check why the golden dread claw bear chose not to attack them even after they attacked first.
Yuhao's used his spirit eyes to look closer into the cave and then saw the puddle of blood and the bear cubs and then got angry as he realized the dark spirit masters plan was to abduct the two infant bear cubs.
Yuhao then shared his view with everyone in their group and they got angry as well and started making plans on how to stop the dark spirit masters from abducting the bear cubs.
'Hmmm…' Houryu suddenly noticed the air around Yuhao's group change as he noticed Yuhao's eyes glowing as he looked at the cave, 'Oh… He's probably already seen it and shared his spirit view with his teammates, he did have that ability after all.'
'Why are they all angry though…? I'm pretty sure that they're not in the Star Dou Forest to have picnics or something. They were probably here to get spirit rings for themselves or something and that requires killing spirit beasts, but now they're pissed because another group of people want to abduct spirit beast cubs.'
'Their academy probably has done this in the past as well… they definitely need spirit beasts to train their students fighting skills right?' Houryu wondered as he noticed their anger.
'... So they do it… but get angry when someone else does it…'
'... This is just plain stupidity… I really can't understand human hypocrisy.' Houryu facepalmed as he realized the reason behind their anger.
'Seriously… why do I keep meeting idiotic or hypocritical people wherever I go.' Houryu thought as he changed his focus back to the dark spirit masters who just summoned the spirit of another golden dread claw bear. The female dread claw bear that was protecting her cave became furious and cried out loudly, with tears running from her eyes.
"That's the spirit of a male dark golden dread claw bear! The mother has gone insane after seeing him… Could that be her mate?" Zhang Le Xuan said as soon as she saw the bear spirit.
'Huh…? But if they can already defeat an even stronger golden dread claw bear… then why would they need these kids' help to defeat another one?' Houryu wondered.
"I understand now! Wang Yan Zheng once told us. The dark golden dread claw bear is a very prideful creature. When they are in danger, they would sooner devour their children than allow their young to be taken." she deduced.
'...!'
'Sorry, what…? What pride? A mother eating her children… Even dragons don't do that, and their pride is way more stuck up their ass.'
'That's some Cronus shit right there. What type of world even is this.' Houryu facepalmed again as he resisted almost pulling his hair out in annoyance.
"Then the reason why they led us here… was for us to distract the mother, while they snatched away the cubs!" Yuhao realized as his face almost turned red in anger.
"Pfffffftttttt… are you really just realizing that now. You suckers got played." Houryu said, laughing at their slow brain processing speed.
The little kiddies group looked at him with anger and slight embarrassment on their faces before Zhang Le Xuan recalled their attention to the matter at hand, "They're outrageous! Let's attack! Our targets will be the three evil soul masters ." She said as she started charging up spiritual energy in between her palms and sending the attack at the dark soul masters.
"These guys have a death wish. They actually have the guts to sneak attack us!" One of the dark soul masters exclaimed immediately after he noticed their incoming attack.
The dark soul master controlling the bear spirit quickly made it block Zhang Le Xuan's attack,"Let's go my little spirit beast!"
"Kill them all!" He screamed with a frenzied smile.
A battle quickly broke out between the different groups and energy-filled attacks were thrown everywhere in all directions.
Houryu watched from the sidelines as the battle gradually became a stalemate.
*Pssshhh*
Houryu opened a soft drink can and began to sip its contents while watching the ongoing battle as it really wasn't of his concern, and he'd rather not take part in such a hypocritical battle where both sides believed they were right and that everyone else was wrong.
Now that he wasn't currently doing anything he now had time to think about what the hell has been happening to him. He keeps feeling weird whenever he was around that Wang Quier girl. An annoying attraction… or distraction.
'Where even is she?' Houryu thought as he suddenly realized that she wasn't in the battle that was happening in front of him. As he was thinking that Yuhao suddenly dashes off away from the direction of the fight and began moving in another direction.
"... Now where is Lil' Blue going…" Houryu said as he prepared to follow.

Sorry for the late chapter guys… was swamped with work… even though it's already the Christmas season. You'd think lecturers would go easier on me at this time, but no. They're going even harder on me. I have tests all the way till the 23rd and exams just after the new year, so I cry in silence.
