Meng Rin thanked them for their evening and took her leave after dinner was over.

Jia gave a side glance to Mingshen. "How come you never talk about intelligent stuff when you are with me?"

He blinked. "What do you mean?"

"I mean I appreciate the way you took a stand on the industry's toxicity and sexist nature. Everybody needs to hear that and everybody needs to do something about it. But when we are together, you only manage to push the wrong buttons," she sneered.

Mingshen's eyes lit up with a dark smile. "Is that what seduces you, Spicy~?"

"At least I get to know that you can talk sensible things at times," her eyes narrowed. "Why did you ask her about the drinks?"

Mingshen whistled secretively.

Jia said after a moment's pause, "You think something was mixed in it?"

"Nothing can be kept a secret from you for much longer," he sighed dramatically. "But that's how you always take my breath away~"

"Is it a yes or no?"
