Bab 85: Late night delivery

Fil never imagined it was easier to fake a tear than a smile. Her journey for revenge stretched her horizons on people — on herself. Staring at the mirror with tears in her eyes, the sides of her lips curled up into an amused smirk. 

"It's amazing," she whispered, watching her tears stain her cheeks. "My eyes are starting to swell."

She touched the corner of her eyes with her fingertips, barely holding herself back from laughing. "Am I going crazy, Jack?"

"Are you?" Jack's voice came out from the phone on the corner of the bathroom sink counter. "You look perfect to me."

"Haha," she laughed, her face crumpling to force more tears out of her. "Do you think he will… call?"

"Which one?" Jack asked sarcastically. "The legal one? Or the other contender? It's obviously not me, since I'm already on the line."
