I asked carefully, thinking it might trigger Natha, but he looked...the same; like he didn't care his kind was involved in this atrocity.

"Why does someone try to harm others?" a reply came from the door as Aunt Nezja walked inside the bedroom. "Of course, it's due to hatred."

"But..." I looked at Natha again, frowning. "Why would a nightmare hate Natha?"

This time, Natha replied himself, chuckling. "I was the son of a traitor, remember?"

"What?!" I slammed my fist on the breakfast tray before I knew it. "But that's just something those Spectri bastards use to bully you because they're afraid you'll become the Lord!"

"Well...it wasn't just the Spectri who thought that back then," Natha shrugged.

"What..."
