Bab 125: Black Wolf Baker

"Who?" William listened, frowning deeply.

"Black Wolf's people!" I told him. "He's coming! We don't have much time. I have to use the portal again!"

However, when I tried to use magic to open the portal, I could feel the magical energy in my body weakening. I tried several times but failed to open the portal.

"What's going on?" William asked.

"My magic power is restrained!" I said dejectedly. "I can't use magic now!"

"Maybe we can do it another way!" William pointed to a brown horse tied down by a well downstairs. "We can ride!"

I helped William into the saddle, and now that he was recovering, at least he could sit on the horse without my help. I sat in front with my hands on the reins, and under the weak moonlight, we ran along the wide gravel road. The wind rustled in my ears, and behind me came hooves and hounds.
