Bab 33: A Sex Counsellor

I told Lola honestly, "Tell me everything about you and your mother."

Lola froze for a moment and said with some surprise, "I thought you were going to ask me about Prince Ian."

"I just want to know why your mother whipped you," I spoke softly to Lola. "Does she beat you often?"

I didn't know why, but I somehow felt sympathy and pity for Lola because I didn't see any motherly love for Lola in Madam Bauer's eyes. My intuition told me that Lola's mother didn't just whip her. She must have suffered more.
