"You are awake," Luciel said to Helen as he entered the living room, having a gentle smile written on his face the moment he saw her.
He already knew that his wife had been awake for quite some time now, chatting with Melisa, but he decided to pretend like he didn't know that.
Luciel didn't want to put Melisa in the awkward spot. She was always pretending to be tough on the surface, so listening in also meant peaking into her privacy, but thanks to his hearing, Luciel couldn't help himself but listen.
"How are you feeling?" He asked Helen, not taking his eyes off her while leading George toward the kid.
"My body is a little bit stiff, but I'll manage." She answered him, fixing her glasses.
Luciel felt better when he heard her answer, being glad that he managed to control himself despite his hunger and stop drinking more of her blood before causing her any harm.
