Bab 79: Lamia

I remembered our surprise when Dia-chan told Rimuru-chan and me that she had succeeded in including the witches in our alliance. The next day, she went to the mermaids and newts. It took a few days of negotiation, but she managed to form an alliance of mutual aid in case of problems.

Even though a few years have passed since these events, I'm still amazed. Dia-chan is truly the best.

At the moment, I'm searching for half-human clans to find. It hasn't been easy because we've already managed to locate three-quarters of them. With the witches, it was quicker.

If I find a tribe that's large enough, I'll get a private date with Dia-chan. That's what the three of us agreed on. However, she made it clear that if we ignored the smaller tribes to search for larger ones, she would get angry.

??: "Are we really forced to take them? They are not very beautiful."

??: "If you want our race to persist, we'll have to be satisfied with what we have. In addition, the beauty of the male we find will not have any impact on the beauty of our daughters."

I was cut off from my thoughts by voices, and strangely, I feel that I have an idea of the race of the voices.

??: "I understand, but he is still very ugly, and you had to hit him in the face because he was defending himself."

??: "They will be less defensive when they find out he has a harem. Who are you?"

The voices came to me and, as I thought, these beings had the upper half of a woman's body and the lower half of a snake's body. They were lamias.

Sera: "Hello, I would like to ask you a question: what are you doing?"

??: "Politeness is not your thing because we asked you the question first, so answer."

Sera: "I call myself Serafall Sitri, and I am a devil. Now answer my question: what are you doing with these unconscious men?"

??: "We are taking them back to our tribe, where we will reproduce with them to perpetuate our race."

Sera: "You call me rude, but haven't you learned that kidnapping is a crime?"

??: "And how else could we bring them to our tribe? If we approached them as friends, they would kill us. So we kidnap them, reproduce with them, and keep doing so with others until they die. Plus, our tribe is very large, so we need a lot of males; otherwise, they would die on the first day."

These are strong arguments, especially considering that lamias are known to only have daughters and therefore lack the opportunity to reproduce.

Sera: "If I show you a technique that allows you to reproduce among yourselves without needing to kidnap anyone, will you stop this practice?"

??: "Is that possible? Because I confess, I don't want to see Mary on a man's body."

This person is surely the one who complained earlier about abducting men. Her words make sense. Since there are only women in the tribe, there's a good chance she has feelings for her friend. But since they can't have a child together, they are forced to reproduce with men, and it's true that this leaves a bitter taste. Just thinking about Dia-chan doing this so we can have a child makes me sick.

Sera: "Yes, I have a technique. We'll show you, but in exchange, you must stop kidnapping and agree to form an alliance with us."

??: "If it means we don't have to travel around the world to find men, I agree to that."

I called Rimuru-chan and Dia-chan, feeling happy because I know that the lamias are a large tribe, and that means I might get the chance for a private date with her.
