Bab 13: Roy In Trouble?

Chapter 12 - Roy In Trouble?

The nun looked at the three people with a pleading expression.

Hearing her, the three immediately frowned.

Father Burke didn't even have time to ask what had happened.

He turned to Roy and Sister Irene.

"I'll leave this to you. I'll go and take a look," he said, his tone firm.

But just as Father Burke was about to leave, Roy stopped him.

"Wait, Father Burke—"

However, before Roy could finish, Father Burke interrupted, speaking gravely.

"Sister Oana and the others are willing to risk their souls to help us."

"As an exorcist, I cannot stand idly by and let them me toyed with!"

He then turned to Roy and added, "Roy, I'm entrusting Sister Irene to you. Please protect her!"

Without waiting for the words, Father Burke followed the nun.

Roy and Sister Irene watched their figures vanish into the shadows.

Roy's face was filled with helplessness.

'As expected, In horror movies, no matter how wise someone is, they're bound to make a reckless decision at the worst possible time.'

This was a critical moment—they were about to retrieve the Blood of Christ.

Yet now, Father Burke had left for reasons Roy couldn't stop.

"Mr. Roy…" Sister Irene murmured timidly, sensing his frustration.

Roy sighed.

"Let's go in first."

"Yes," she replied softly.

Roy pushed open the cellar door.

It creaked loudly, the sound grating in the silence.

The two entered cautiously.

Inside the passage, the darkness was so dense that they could barely see without the lamp.

Yet in the cellar itself, an inexplicable glow illuminated the space, making the lamp unnecessary.

In the center of the room stood a delicate statue of the Virgin Mary, slightly tilted.

The strange light seemed to emanate from the statue itself.

After exchanging glances, the two approached the statue.

Sister Irene knelt to pray, while Roy observed the area carefully.

Remembering a clue from earlier, he examined the statue's fingers.

Changing his angle several times, he eventually noticed a ray of light refracting off the statue's fingers and striking a specific spot on the wall.

Sister Irene noticed it too and hurried to the spot where the beam landed.

Feeling around, she found a keyhole hidden in the wall.

Inserting the key into the keyhole, she turned it.

Sure enough, as if following a script, the wall's bricks slid open, revealing a small alcove.

Inside was an ornate bottle containing a few drops of blood aka the Blood of Christ!

"Finally, we've found it!" Sister Irene's face lit up with relief.

Roy, too, felt a weight lift off his shoulders.

In Catholicism, consecrated bread represents the body of Christ, and wine represents his blood.

However, this bottle did not contain symbolic wine; it held the actual blood of Christ.

It was no wonder that Valak, one of the 72 demons of hell, had been forced back into its seal by this very blood.

"Let's get back to Father Burke".

"Yes!" Sister Irene agreed enthusiastically.

With the Blood of Christ in hand, they left the cellar.

However, as they returned to the passage, they noticed several shadows ahead.

The dim light made it hard to discern details, so the pair stopped.

With the lamp casting its glow, the shadows became clearer, revealing figures that made Sister Irene's eyes widen in horror.

Standing before them were nuns with pitch-black faces, their features entirely obscured.

A decayed, malevolent aura emanated from them, both repulsive and terrifying.

"They… they're…" Sister Irene trembled as she spoke.

Roy didn't need her to finish.

He understood immediately—

"Stay behind me," Roy stepped up to protect her.

His palm glowed with a bright light.

Sensing the light, the nuns shrieked and rushed toward him.

Roy stood his ground.

With precise strikes, he engaged those demonic entities.

Each punch landed with explosive force.

One by one, they disintegrated with agonized screams.

Within moments, Roy had defeated the demonic entities.

Sister Irene watched in awe and her eyes fixed on him with a mix of admiration and hope.

But just as Roy struck down yet another, Sister Irene sensed something behind her.

Turning around, she gasped in terror.

Figures cloaked in coarse cloth, their heads covered with sack-like hoods, stood silently behind her.

Their appearance resembled hanged prisoners from the Dark Ages.

Before she could cry out, the figures lunged, grabbing her limbs and lifting her off the ground.

They carried her swiftly into the shadows.

Turning in alarm, Roy saw Sister Irene being dragged away by the figures.

"Sister Irene!"

But before he could chase after her, the remaining demon blocked his path.
