Determined to expand my knowledge, I sold some iron that my rabbits had gathered and managed to purchase three books: "The Barebone Basics Of Human Magic," "Norse Magic," and "The Magic of The Fallen." Each tome held secrets and spells that I couldn't wait to unlock. The difference between Angelic Magic and the magic of the Fallen was something I had always been curious about, but these books would finally provide me with answers.
I knew that mastering these new forms of magic would take a bit of time, especially since creating golems of them was a goal I would achieve. The Fallen utilized Light magic, while the Angels wielded Holy magic - two powerful forces that would soon be at my fingertips.
Holy magic, a higher tier of Light magic, was once accessible to the Fallen before their fall from grace. It was a power that they now longed for, but could never regain. Such is the vindictiveness of their punishment. Some of the Fallen may have fallen for just reasons, yet still lost their connection to the Light. For instance, according to the documents copied from Azazel, that I have been poring over, Kokabiel - one of the primary antagonists in the original series - fell because he witnessed humans being mercilessly slaughtered by devils and vampires. Overcome with rage and fueled by a desire for vengeance, he succumbed to his own downfall. It's hard not to feel sympathy for him; after all, he had such a deep love for both humanity and his fellow fallen beings. Unfortunately, that love was twisted and corrupted in the end.
I knew I needed to intervene and create a long-term strategy to tame Azazel's notorious playboy ways and ultimately gain control over the Fallen. In preparation, I purchased advanced AR glasses that would allow me to see and hear everything my rabbits, and other golems connected to me were doing, making it easier for me to manipulate their actions. The glasses took the form of stylish sunglasses, but were surprisingly affordable given the current state of technology. Deciding to make the most of my day, I made my way to the gym and immediately noticed the two sisters working out with weights.
More specifically, Jess was spotting Jane as she started to lift 100 pounds with ease. They were probably testing what their limits were and would move on from there. Another great thing about my golems is, they could grow in strength in any way any other being could in this world, but with unlimited physical stamina. They weren't bound by their role or conventional rules, as I have discovered. Therefore, once I had access to gravity magic, I was gonna pull a dragon ball, and put all of my golems through increased gravity. There was even a magically reinforced part of the gym that was similar to a small arena.
I hopped onto the treadmill, feeling the steady rumble of the machine beneath my feet. The whirring of the motor filled my ears as I began to run, my body slowly warming up with each mile. Once I reached a good pace, I stretched out my limbs, feeling every muscle awaken and loosen under my touch. The two sisters beside me followed suit, their bodies mirroring mine in unison, their movements fluid and graceful. It was almost like a dance, and I couldn't help but smile at their eagerness to join in.
"My dear Creator, could you please lend us your expertise on exercising?" Jane's voice was hesitant, but determined. "We have some knowledge, but we're not sure how to structure a proper regime." In that moment, I made the decision to implement my gravity plan as soon as possible. The book on human magic had a detailed section on the fundamentals of gravity magic, which should be adequate for our purposes. However, in the meantime, I provided them with a workout plan inspired by one of my favorite comedic animes.
"100 pushups, 100 sit ups, 100 squats, and a 10KM run. Do it every single day. Also, every week, double it," I announced with a feral grin on my face, knowing that my two companions were feeling a mix of excitement and fear at the thought of completing this feat. With unwavering determination, I left them to their training, knowing that even though they had seemingly infinite stamina, the mental fatigue would eventually set in. But I was determined to push myself and my golems to their limits in this verse that held no punches. The thought of facing the ExE, those powerful, but bullshit machine gods, made me shudder with relief that they were not a part of this universe. The power of boobs my ass.
I returned to the forge as I continued to observe the Fallen angel and human magician, then took a seat on a bench. I found the mix of heat and cold that I felt on the bench from the flames of the forge, and the breeze of the magic sigils on the walls to be comforting. In a few more hours I will have access to creating golems with the capability of the human magic system. The one restriction I did see, were the magic systems, specifically of the different races like angels, devils, fallen, yokai, and the like. The more I have access to, the more I can put into one golem. However, I couldn't have them try to learn it if I didn't have access to that magic system.
The Norse magic book sat untouched on my shelf, for I lacked the ability to utilize its power without witnessing it being used first. Instead, I poured my resources into purchasing a tome dedicated to creating a programming language and another on the intricacies of 'Magical Mathematics'. With the Golem King powerset, I had the unique ability to replicate any aspect of my golems, including their capacity for learning. This gave me the potential to create my own magic system entirely.
With nothing else to occupy my time, I delved into the human magic system book while waiting for the timers to tick down. It was like trying to learn two complex coding languages at once – Python and C++ – with each spell requiring dozens of lines of intricate code that could only be mastered through endless practice. Even something as seemingly simple as conjuring a small light required an intricate sequence of commands and precise execution. But I was determined to master this new form of magic and add it to my repertoire.
Intricately woven into the building blocks of human magic was a system that many referred to as devil magic. However, the true distinction between this and the human magic system lay in the fabric in which they were woven - while devil magic thrived on the power of imagination, the human one relied heavily on the precise use of language and intent. It was a complex concept, often difficult to grasp, yet its essence was simple - words held immense power in this world. They could shape reality and bend it to their will, for better or for worse. And in this way, the two systems were ultimately intertwined, connected by a thin thread of belief and possibility.
Despite the overwhelming amount of information I would need from various programming languages and magic systems, I decided to narrow my focus and concentrate on creating my own. I was determined to make it unique, drawing inspiration from every source imaginable. With a flick of my fingers, the data was digitized and stored in my servers, ready for me to access with a simple command. As I read through the lines of code displayed on my sleek glasses, I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed with excitement at the possibilities ahead.
My two creations, the sisters, possessed an incredible learning capacity that far surpassed any expectations I had. After all, I had designed them with the power to create any weapon, item, or armor given enough time. With their assistance, I knew I could accelerate the process of creating my newly crafted magic system. In fact, I estimated that it would only take a week to lay down the foundation and iron out any flaws. Of course, having a devil or Yokai to observe with would greatly aid in fine-tuning the details. Perhaps even looking over a god or two would prove beneficial, although that may come with its own set of dangers that I wasn't quite ready to face just yet.
Jane POV
The exercise that The Creator had devised was grueling and arduous. Despite having no limits on our physical stamina, our bodies strained and faltered under the demands we placed on them. It took us several hours to complete the task, and by the end, we were both struggling to even move. Our chests heaved with exertion, but it wasn't just our breath that was taxed - our muscles burned and ached, protesting against the intense physical strain. If this was only the beginning of the trials they had prepared for us, I couldn't help but feel a twinge of fear for what lay ahead.
Still, I knew deep down that this was necessary for our survival in the dangerous universe we were a part of. The Creator had been wise in their teachings, we wouldn't feel like this right now otherwise, and I trusted that these trials would ultimately make us stronger, and more capable of facing any challenges that may come our way.
Once we somewhat recovered and drank large amounts of water from the water fountain in the gym, we headed down to where The Creator was. We skipped over the time to prepare and eat dinner, but it's better late than never, so we were planning to prepare some fried rice and shrimp.
As we entered the Forge, a sense of awe washed over us. Creator sat before us, surrounded by an array of virtual screens projected from his glasses. His hands remained still, indicating that he was controlling the screens with his mind. It was a testament to his incredible technological abilities and left us marveling in admiration.
"It's probably best not to disturb them while they work. Lets go and prepare dinner. Then we could probably watch some of that anime that The Creator mentioned. I believe he called it 'Kuroko no basket?'" Jess was right, we shouldn't bother him. As we started to head back up, I saw him get to work on more rabbits while he was working on what looked like another language perhaps. I couldn't tell, there were a lot of numbers and letters that I didn't recognize. It's probably best that I don't worry about that right now.
"After we finish dinner, it would most likely be in our best interest to start blacksmithing. We haven't done so yet, but I have a feeling that they will be creating more of our brethren soon." Jess looked towards me as I stated that and nodded her head.
Mark POV
The sisters came down to check on me, but didn't say anything, so I'm assuming it had to do with dinner. It can wait though since I finished up four more rabbits and sent them on their way. They had specific orders to find devils, yokai, angels, and any other magically inclined race. I carefully stored the remaining pile of wood, stone, iron, and scraps of steel, saving them for future golems. As I surveyed my forge, I made a mental note to create more mundane golems - ones that could serve as miners, farmers, fishermen, seamstresses, and more. The possibilities were endless and my mind hummed with excitement at the thought of bringing more creations to life.
As I thought about my dimension, a spark of inspiration ignited within me. It wouldn't hurt to create my own little world within this vast expanse. With that thought in mind, I set out to build a mine or two, as well as a farm, to increase my dwindling food resources. Calling upon a pair of rabbits who had been gathering materials for me, I sent them on a mission to find farm animals and produce.
Meanwhile, I focused half of my remaining resources on crafting nine golems - three for mining and three for farming - as well as one seamstress and two fishermen.
I then called upon the sisters, asking them to create tools for the golems to use in their work. With their preparations earlier, they brought down boxes of what would be my dinner.
The new golems were a mixed batch that looked male, female, or androgynous. I decided to mix it up. They all bowed to me and the sisters, then took a seat on a bench, or leaned against the wall near it. As I savored my fried rice, the two sisters moved with practiced ease around their cramped work space, deftly creating tools for the new golems joining our ranks. The comforting aroma of freshly fried shrimp wafted from their food sitting next to me on my personal bench, in the boxes meant for the sisters. Their faces were alight with excitement as they finally had a chance to work in the smaller smithy. With each strike of the hammer and twist of the anvil, a sense of camaraderie and unity filled the air. Just as quickly as they began, all the tools were completed, except for one:
The final fishing rod sat before them, its intricate design demanding both attention and precision.
The sisters leaned over their work, their hands moving with practiced grace as they added the finishing touches to the delicate yet sturdy piece. As they worked, a soft purple glow emanated from the rod, bathing the entire forge in its ethereal light. And then, just as suddenly as it had appeared, the glow faded away, leaving behind a masterfully crafted fishing rod.
"Creator, a screen popped up when we created this fishing rod, I sent the data to the servers so you can take a look at it."
With a new sense of urgency, I tapped on the newly-created folder with my mind, in the server, titled "Special Items", and eagerly located the data on the fishing rod. My eyes widened in disbelief as I scrolled through the information. To say that I was stunned would be an understatement - my mind was reeling with excitement and intrigue
The Golems Call
Rank: Legendary
Type: Fishing Rod
Durability: Infinite
Skill: This powerful artifact grants incredible abilities to the golem who wields it. With this in hand, no bait is needed for a successful catch. In the hands of a golem aligned with the path of a fisherman, its power grows as they fish and reel in greater catches. Additionally, it grants the user the ability to always locate sea creatures. As the user grows in strength, so too does the item's power. Truly a legendary tool for any golem seeking to dominate the seas, and anything beyond it.
How in the fresh hell did this happen to a fishing rod of all things? Am I gonna have a Legendary Fisherman/woman? As I pondered this thought, the fishing rod suddenly flew towards a nearby fishing golem. It seemed only fitting to give her a name, and after some consideration, I chose Levi - short for Leviathan. The irony of having a fishing-themed name was not lost on me, and I couldn't help but imagine future interactions between her and Serafall or even the original devil leviathan if they were to become stronger in the near future. But for now, that possibility seemed far-fetched and unlikely to occur anytime soon.
