Chapter 15: A Perfect Act
Laura POV
Yes I did, so what?? I yelled.
"You are the one who almost messed things up, don't you think? You could have just gone with it when she said we should get engaged but you want a marriage instead??" I said with a smirk and he sighed.
"You don't know anything so don't butt in!" He yelled and walked upstairs.
He is really unbelievable, why would he yell at me just because I almost collapse in his grandma's place. I didn't fake the headache, did I?
"Right!" I heard his voice again and turned to look at him, he has stopped on the stairs and fixed his gaze on me.
"Be prepared for the wedding in a week, I'm sure that's when it's going to be" He said and continued this ascension of the stairs.
"In a week??" I couldn't help but think about that word, I shake my head and walked upstairs into my room. I slumped down on the bed and all I could think of was the wedding that is going to take place soon.
I quickly stood up as it looked like I remembered something and gasped.
Married couples do kiss, is he going to kiss me too?? I asked myself but couldn't find an answer to that, I could only know that if the wedding day finally or really comes.
The day went on with Xavier and Ariana not picking on me, I was glad for that but it could only be because their day was hectic and they had no strength to talk to me.
We all sat in the sitting room watching a movie, although they were all not concentrated on the movie, only I was.
There was a ring of the doorbell and I looked out for one of the maid but couldn't see any. I turned my gaze to Ariana who was on her phone. She acted like she didn't hear the doorbell and so was Xavier.
I sighed and stood up getting the door.
"Who's it?" I said opening the door. I didn't bother checking the security door system because I knew no one would be able to get into the mansion without going through the security guards.
I opened the door and saw a man standing in front of the door, with a girl beside him.
They both looked unique. The girls dressing was much better than Ariana's in all way. I could tell she's a more obsessed fashionista than Ariana is.
The guy was handsome in his own way, his blue hair was captivating but i knew better than to start crushing on him. The girl beside him was locking her arms with his. I knew they must be a couple.
I stared at them forgetting the basic manners to show visitors or strangers when they visits your home.
"Who the hell is at the door!" Ariana yelled walking up to me.
"Oh! Cole!!" She yelled upon seeing the person at the door. They ran to each other hugging so tightly.
The guy who she just called Cole broke the hug in seconds and pecked her cheeks. My eyes darted to the girl at the door to check for signs of jealousy on her face but didn't find any.
Maybe I'm wrong and he's actually Ariana's boyfriend??
"Who is..." Ariana said flickering her eyes to the girl at the door but then she gasped.
"Mabel!!!" She yelled and that got me surprised too.
Mabel?? The Mabel who ran away with Xavier's money??
Mabel walked in with a confident smile on her face as she waved her hands in the air stopping in front of Ariana.
"Hi! I'm Mabel!" She said with a wide smile and Ariana scoffed.
My eyes darted to Xavier who was sitting on the sofa with his legs crossed. He wasn't saying anything but was just watching as everything unfolds.
"You bit--" Ariana said but was cut off by Mabel who hugged her so tightly.
"I miss you so much dear friend" Mabel said hugging Ariana more tightly.
"Don't you dare say anything about it in front of him" She said to Ariana but I could hear her because she was facing me.
Cole walked up to Xavier and took his seat in front of him.
"It's been a long time Mr. Xavier Harrington" He said with a smile.
"Same here, Mr. Cole Frederick" Xavier said not with a smile though.
"Cut the crap, I miss your ass dude!!" Cole yelled while laughing.
They are getting me lost really! I couldn't tell maybe they were friends or business partners.
Mabel broke the hug and walked to me. She scanned me from my head to my toe and that made me angry. Why the hell would she stare at someone she just met like that.
No! We met before! I remembered that just now, the girl who told me to run! It's really this Mabel.
"Who are you?" She asked with a smirk.
"Xavier's fiancee who would be getting married to him in a week" I said with a confident smile. I didn't realize the others in the room had been looking until I turned only to see their eyes on us. Mabel didn't notice though, so she kept blabbing.
"Fiancee my foot, tell me it's not a contract marriage you are planning for, I know, don't pretend" she said and chuckled lightly.
It made me smile. She doesn't even know we are the center of attention in the room.
"I don't know what you are talking about Miss Mabel, but I think you are being too rude for someone I just met" I said and gave her a deadly glare which made her scoff.
"Mabel!" Cole called getting her turn to face the others.
I walked to Xavier's side sitting beside him.
"Why would you say we are planning a contract marriage when you know nothing about us" I said dusting Xavier's shirt which has no dirt on it. My hands could feel the beating of his heart but I didn't care, I just want to put on a perfect act right now.
I smiled at him and he smiled back.
"How have you been Mabel?" Xavier asked and I could feel the intense glare between the two.
