Bab 287: The Red Room

Huria was awakened in the middle of the night by Rais with the saddest news. He held her to his chest first before breaking the heart-wrenching revelation to her. 

"Huria! I want you to be strong for what I am about to tell you," Rais slowly said in a voice that bordered on hurt. Huria lifted her head slightly and stared at him in confusion. 

"What is it? What's wrong?" 

He met her troubled gaze and his heart ached knowing this news would break her. 

"Skyla's home was attacked… She has been kidnapped and Madame Maven has been shot. She is in the hospital. All her guards have been killed." 

Huria blinked at the unbelievable words her fiancé was sputtering out. Her face morphed from confused to angered one as she tried to wriggle out of his hold and stand up. 

"What the hell are you talking about? Are you out of your mind?" She frustratedly yelled at him, he held onto her, expecting such behaviour.
