Bab 21: Sport festival (part 2)
The first trial passed, Ryuu and Shinso quickly faced the second.
It was huge precipice, with a bunch of platforms distributed above it.
Anyone who would fall would immediately be eliminated.
Some cable were outstretched above the precipice, seemed that the competitors should use them to pass the trial.
Todoroki was already far ahead and a large number of competitor as well.
Present Mic was commenting tteh whole show, he highlighted the fact that only a defined number of competitor would be able to go to the next stage so all of them should hurry up.
Ryuu was evaluating the situation, trying to find out the best way to pass the trial when Hitoshi suddenly rushed towards the edge before jumping at the only few millimetres in front of it.
Ryuu was dumbfound, Hitoshi managed to jump on the cable and keep his balance on it and slowly walk to the platform connected to it.
"Pretty easy for a trial !" Hitoshi stated.
Seemed that the boy managed to gain some self-confidence during his training.
Ryuu giggled when he heard these words coming from his friend.
"What is funny ?"Hitoshi asked looking somehow vexed.
"Nothing man, just that you look a little too proud, don't think ?" Ryuu said with a little grin.
Hitoshi shook his head and replied with a smile "I am just saying what I've observed."
Then Ryuu jumped while using his quirk to remove the effect of the gravity on him to rejoin his friend on the platform.
As he landed, a female figure appeared from behind Hitoshi.
"You are slow guys !" a familiar voice stated.
It was an upset looking Mana that appeared there.
"Hum? From when were you there ?" Hitoshi asked as he turned around to face her.
"I was there since the two of you arrived at the edge, I saw you coming so I decided to wait. but you are really slow, you now ?" she replied followed by a sigh.
"Then shouldn't we hurry to catch up with those ahead ?" Ryuu asked.
His friends both noded and they then advanced.
Ryuu used the same technique than before and easily passed the trial, Mana for her part used a support item that she made, apparently it was allowed for the support course to use they creations, it was board that could float, she used it to slide on the ropes, for Hitoshi it wasn't big deal he just ran on the ropes like a professional equilibrist, his training really made him more agile.
The second trial passed they ran and quickly arrived at the last trial, it was a minefield.
The mines were just some training-mine they wouldn't injure the competitors but could eject them from the ground.
It was made to bother those at the lead of the running.
The trio didn't hesitate and jumped in, Mana, kept using her board and passed above the field quickly, Ryuu disarmed the mines in his way with his quirk and passed the field easily.
For Hitoshi, it was less flashy, he just ran while avoiding to touch any of mines, he has builded up a really good sense of observation during his training, he could move qt high speed and still notice any detail of his surrounding.
They all passed the minefield and managed to pass the finish line in the first forty.
They successfully passed the first stage.
The one who won the first stage was Izuku Midoriya.
It was surprising result, it was at the minefield that he caugth up with Todoroki and Bakugo who were leading the the run.
He made a huge explosion by piling several mines and making them explode simultaneously, using the impulse to send himself flying above the field.
Soon after that the second stage began.
It was raffled that it would be a Cavalry Battle.
The rules were the basic ones, but there were some additional rules, each participant has recieved points depending on his rank on the first stage.
They need to team up, each team must be composed by two to four members. And the team receives the sum of all the members points written on a headband. The goal is to steal the other teams points to get the highest score possible.
There was 42 participants that passed the first stage.
The 42th got 5 points, the 41th 10 points and so on apart for the first one he got 10 000 000 points.
As they heard that, all the participants eyes turned towards Izuku Midoriya with death stare.
It was obvious that he would be the number one target of all teams.
Hitoshi was 27th, Ryuu 33th and Mana 40th.
They respectively got 80 points, 50 points and 15 points, which gives their team 145 points.
"It will be the three of us then!" Hitoshi stated.
"Yeah !" Mana replied.
"No" Ryuu stated firmly.
His friends were confused, they didn't knew who else would team up with them.
"Hitoshi come with me, let's recruit our last teammate!"he said as he walked forwards.
Hitoshi just followed him, waiting to know who would be the one that would join them.
Ryuu stopped next a blond boy with a tail from the A class.
"Hey! Ojiro isn't it? Whould you like to team up witj us ?" Ryuu asked him.
"Hum ? Sorry but I was planning to team up with my friends !" the boy replied with a little smile.
Before that Ryuu could say another word, Hitoshi spoke out.
"Could you reconsider ?" he asked with insistence.
"Sorry, I've alread…"
The boy couldn't even finish his sentence that his eyes turned white and he stopped totally moving.
"Was that really necessary ?" Ryuu asked his friend rising an eyebrow.
"Well he looked obstinate to refuse so…"
Ryuu sighed as they slowly went back to where Mana was waiting them with Ojiro following them like a zombie under Hitoshi's control.
"How are we going to play this?" Mana asked Ryuu.
"Well, our formation is very simple! I'll be forward ,Hitoshi you'll be the cavalier, Mana left backward and Ojiro right backward!" Ryuu stated.
"I'm the cavalier?" Hitoshi asked surprised.
"Yeah, I'll concel allthe attacks and you can use your quirk to get the headbands!" Ryuu replied.
"I see!" Hitoshi said as he nooded.
Soon after that the second stage began.
Just as it began, all the teams rushed at Midoriya's team aiming for the 10 000 000 points.
Their target's strategy was to escape at any cost.
They were equipped with some gadgets made by a certain Mei Hatsume from the support course.
"She's talented !" Ryuu said.
"Yeah, but she often creates explosive things though." Mana said with a sigh at the end.
"Are you done talking?" Hitoshi asked. "We are attacked!"
"Hum?" Ryuu looked around and noticed that they were surrounded by three teams.
The first team to attack was the team of Kendo from B class.
With her gigant hands she tried to grab the headband of Hitoshi but he managed to evade the attack by leaning backwards.
He then tried to counter-attack with success, he was about to grab her headband but unfortunately she hit his and in time to send his hand backward.
Hitoshi cursed in his mind.
"Retreat!" He ordered.
It was the best decision, the two other teams were about to attack them like Kendo's team.
Hitoshi pressed a little button on little capsule and threw it on the floor, as it hit the ground, a large steam began to flow out of it.
They used that as diversion to escape, pinching the headband of the two other teams apart of Kendos in the process.
They quickly escape and went as far as possible of these teams that attacked them.
They began to discreetly take the headband of the careless teams like Tetsutetsu team.
Hitoshi has put on lens that shows him all data he needs.
It was one of Mana's creations, with that he could quickly see which team was the easiest target.
As the trial continued, the floor was suddenly covered by ice which immobilized nearly all the teams on the arena.
An ice-dome could be seen at the corner of arena, apparently Midoriya's team got cornered by Todoroki's team.
The team of Bakugo rushed towards them as the stage was about to end but didn't manage to get the 10 000 000 points.
There were four team that passed the second stage, 1rst-Team Todiroki, 2nd-Team Bakugo,3rd-Team Hitoshi and 4th-Team Midoriya.
After the second stage, there was a little break before the final stage, a serie of duels.
"The real show is about to begin!" Ryuu stated with a grin as he was walking in the corridor.
