Anabella had made her threat, hoping that the alpha would back off and decide that it was not worth going after her.

But much to her disbelief, the alpha just laughed as soon as she heard what Anabella had to say.

"You think your warning is going to stop me? Then, you are sorely mistaken, Miss Ross. Do you think your family would allow this scandal to get out, no matter how much you beg them to?

As you said, reputation is everything in these circles, so who would want an accident to leak out? I can do anything I want to you, and I am willing to bet that no one would report me to the authorities. People are too afraid of me and what I can do to them."

The alpha sounded confident as she used her pheromones to secure Anabella, knock out the guard, and pin her.

Her pre-heat caused her to lose all sense of rationality, and Anabella's body felt like a separate entity that was not under her control.
