Bab 127: Karlton kissing Clarke

Clarke leaned down to kiss her on the cheek when they first met, and she returned the gesture with equal ardour. They talked for quite some time, pausing occasionally to bow to one another. He pulled a few opals from his pocket and handed them to Clarke, who held them in the crooks of his fingers and looked at them under the sunlight. When both parties nodded, it indicated an agreement had been reached and a trade was imminent.

While I was watching TV, Karlton took the item from Clarke and retreated through the yellow wave in my way. She hid behind the statue and came into the room with me, and I could tell that Clarke was watching "her."

She made a triumphal motion with the piece of machinery in her hands and then said, "One disrupter module."
