Bab 33: Karma Is A Bi*ch

Amongst the darkness, Amber and the other's couldn't see Noah at all. All they could do is stand around with faces full of resentment, as they used all types of insults to complain about Sophie.

From his hidden position, Noah watched their helpless expressions , as the corners of his mouth slightly curved up. How dare they insult his wife !? If he hadn't heard, it wouldn't have mattered, but as since he has heard it , then... Luck must be not on their side.

In the dark, Noah picked up his phone and made a call to Ethan, "Help me find out which agency Kathy Davies works for"

"Yes, Sir" Ethan responded From the other side of the call.

Before leaving Mexico, he definitely needed to leave something behind for Kathy. After all, She had done so much to Sophie, including tricking into her to coming all the way here to be Amber's stepping stone.

He thought about it, what he was about to do, was after Sophie had already won her battle against them, So It wouldn't be considered to be as interfering in her business, right !?

Amongst the bright and colourful celebration dinner, Sophie remained calm as she maintained a smile In her face as she mixed with the guests and the reporters. As she didn't want Noah to wait too long, she said she wasn't feeling very well as an excuse and left the dinner midway taking Ashley and Lisa with her.

After waking out of the main entrance of the hotel, Sophie successfully spotted Noah amidst the darkness. This man, who was the center of attention, always seems to disregard his own identity and wait for her amongst various hidden corners.

Ashley and Lisa didn't wanted to be lightbulbs , so they just took their own taxi back to the manor, leaving Sophie on her own to board Noah's car.

Noah watched as Sophie approached, seeing her shoulder was still exposed, he quickly removed his suit jacket and placed it on her, "Didn't you think asking Lisa to prepare a jacket for you when you left the manor this morning !?"

"If I had asked Lisa to prepare one, would I still have the chance to wear this jacket that contains your warmth" Sophie smiled before continuing, "Mr. Kingsley's jacket can't simply be worn by anyone"

Noah was completely defeated by her as he caringly held onto her icey cold hands and helped her onto the car, "Let's go home"

Upon returning to the manor, the whole place had been transformed, the bedroom was covered with fresh flowers and fragrant candles were placed throughout the entire house.

Noah hugged Sophie from behind as he placed a kiss on her back, "This is to you returning with a glory.

"This past few days , You Haven't had a proper night's rest, since we finally had a day off..." Sophie's voice seemed choked up, "Why didn't you take some rest, we will be flying tomorrow and after that you will be busy again"

"If you feel guilty, then why don't you give me a massage later" Responded Noah.

Sophie looked around as she enjoyed the fragrance. She grabbed onto Noah's arms and pushed him onto the bed. Then took the essential oil from Lisa , she poured some into her hand and gently pressed against Noah's back. Noah's body has always been worth mentioning, as it had always been built and firm.

However, because of the demanding work he had been doing over the past few days, his muscles have become extra tensed.

Sophie was a bit upset seeing this. Ever since marrying Noah, it seems she hadn't spent much time with taking care of his health.

"I will reflect on this" Sophie reminded herself.

"Huh!?" Noah didn't know what she wanted to reflect on, so he made an questioning sound.

"I will take good care of you"

Ever since the incident with Nathan, Sophie had learned to cherish everything she had. She had already lost so much , she wasn't going to let anyone snatch anything else from her. Especially, Not Noah.

Hearing her words , Noah turned around and pulled her close to her chest, "From what I see, I think you should be taking care of more. But when it comes to reflecting, you really need to do some reflecting. I want you"

Sophie looked at Noah, her eyes was clear and sincere, "What a coincidence, me too. But , you need to slow down"

The married couple were extremely in sync when it came to this. Sophie didn't put on a act and Noah didn't play around. Everything they did was purely based on their passion and love for each other.

Sophie set softly oriental trend . A big hit in Europe and in the states.

Sophie pressures Amber, Makes her become the backdrop

Sophie endorses ISN. Becomes the well deserved favourite in the western market.

This were the headline plastered among the oriental daily news. The Sophie that kept a low profile with stepped all over by Amber had ultimately used her most professional self to instantly defeat Amber. She used her own capabilities to show everyone what was the true oriental trend. And thanks to the endorsement of Mystic and ISN , Sophie's status was no longer on the same level as she arrived at the Mexico's soil.

Of course , Apart from fans overseas, fans in back at home was also cheering for Sophie's impressive result. Back when Ashley told everyone to have faith in Sophie, it put confidence back on the hearts of many fans as they waited patiently for her victory. And as expected, Sophie didn't disappoint. She truly rose up , not allowing anyone to ever see her as an outdated model again.

Upon seeing the news , Kathy and Amber smashed everything inside. Sophie's Popularity not only meant Amber had failed, but also meant from now on , there was no way that they could suppress her.

On the other hand , Amber who had originally praised so highly and even been compared to Jacklin Roberts, went the opposite way. How ashamed would she be to return home. A model that shot the front cover of a magazine received no attention and have become Sophie's Backdrop, this joke would be spoken over for many years to come.

"That's enough. You two can stop smashing things" Nathan was getting a headache from watching them. Deep down , his emotions were even more complex than Amber and his sister's. Global Pictures shareholders had already pressured him early on, they were unimpressed by his persistent support of Amber. They had invested so much manpower and resources into Amber, only to find in the end - the results were shocking, No mentions.

This was not because Amber was unlucky though, It was because Sophie was too powerful. As business people, the most important thing to them was profit. If Nathan continued on like this , they weren't going to sit around and do nothing.

"Nathan , How do we get mom to help !?" Kathy suggested that they get help from their mother. But Nathan never mentioned his mother , because he didn't feel like his mother was anything worth mentioning. Ever since the death of his father , his mother couldn't handle being lonely. So she eventually broke up a happy family and became the wife of a director.

All these years, they barely contacted each other, because on top of everything, his mother had also became somebody's step mother.

"Kathy, this issue... Let's talk about it when we get home" Nathan responded impatiently.

"Nathan, You couldn't possibly be blaming me , right !?" Kathy could sense Nathan was upset, "Nathan it's true that I planned everything, but who do you think I did for !? I did everything for you guys. Amber didn't meet expectations, how could you blame me for that !? Why don't you blame Sophie that bitc*!?"

Not long after Kathy spoke, the phone in her hand started ringing. As soon as she saw it was from her company, she quickly stabilized her emotions and answered, "Hellow!"

"Kathy, J band is in trouble, where have you been !?" The person from the other side questioned.

She have been spending so much time sticking her nose in other people's business that she didn't even pay attention to her own artists. As a result, a recently famous girl band of hers was discovered doing drugs by their fans. It was not easy to accumulate the fame, yet in one night - it was all destroyed. And worst of all, while this was happening, Kathy was nowhere to be seen.

"Mister....." Kathy stammered.

"From tomorrow onwards, you don't need to come for work anymore. I am going to make sure you are blacklisted in Mexico"

After hearing this, Kathy's mind went blank…before it exploded, "Sir, Let me explain" Kathy had nothing to explain herself with.

"What is there to explain!? You used the resources provided by the company to help your brothers. Did you really think we wouldn't find out !? Mystic was originally one of our resources, one of our model was to appear on the front cover's issue - The Oriental trend would have been on our own control. But what did you do instead !? Kathy , Prepare the compensation for breaching your contract"

After speaking he hung up the phone, Not allowing Kathy the chance to redeem herself. Kathy was dumbfounded as she dropped her arms, her mouth continuously mumbled some worde.

"It's over !? Everything is just over !? My career is also over !?"

"Kathy , What happened !?" Nathan asked.

"It was all because of you" Kathy screamed with all her might, "Because of your I was fired! On top of that, I have been blacklisted and have to pay 10 million dollars for breaching my contract. 10 Million Mexican Dollars. That means almost 500 thousand US dollars"

Nathan and Amber were stunned, the never expected the consequences would be so dire.

"The worst is that I will also be blacklisted, do you know what that means !? It means I won't be able to get any job in Mexico. I can't no longer make any living from Mexico. All the efforts that I put in over the years , has been wasted" After Kathy was finished screaming, she dropped the phone bitterly. At this moment she was filled with regret and hate. Why she helped this useless brother !? Why didn't she help Amber go against Sophie !?

"Kathy, You haven't lost everything, You still have me" Nathan tried to comfort her.

"Go away, You only have Amber in your eyes" kathy pushed Nathan away.

"Kathy, I will help you" Nathan said again.

"Fine, If you want to really help me, then ...then help me pay off half the compensation for breaching my contract. Also I want to become Sophie's Manager. If you guys won't support her , then I will. I am going to use Sophie to help me make a comeback" Kathy snapped, "Do you have the courage to agree to this !?"

Nathan and Amber glared at each other. This was absolute nonsense. Not only would he not allow his sister to help an enemy, even if they were to agree. There is no way Sophie would allow something like this to happen. However, on the surface, he still had to find a way to brush her off, so he used Sophie as an excuse, "I can help you with your compensation by selling some shares. We will get over this together. However, if you think about how we previously treated Sophie, There is no way she would let you become her manager. Plus , she already has Ashley"

"How does Ashley compare to me !? Since Global pictures can no longer control Sophie's progress then why don't we personally help her to the top !? At least that way we can boost our own reputation. Most importantly, I can keep an eye on Sophie. This is like killing 3 birds with 1 stone" Kathy was dreaming about controlling Sophie. She was full of hate and unwillingness to accept defeat. She wanted to see if she was to become Sophie's Manager, wheather Sophie could still do what she liked , like now.

Listening to Kathy's reasoning, Nathan started to reconsider. Even if they couldn't suppress Sophie, at least Kathy would be able to stop Sophie from causing trouble. If he was to agree to this , he and Amber would be able to breath a sigh of relief, "Kathy I will agree to it." Nathan replied.

"You guys return to New York first, after I have sorted everything out here, I will come back and take over Sophie" Kathy said.

"Okay! Nathan replied.

Taking over Sophie !? Let's see if Noah would allow that.

Amber was not happy with this decision. She couldn't believe that they were going to personally make Sophie famous. However, this incident with Mystic magazine, was indeed her fault for implicating Nathan and Kathy. So at this point , there is nothing she could say. All she could do was to look at Nathan with shaky expression, "Don't you want me anymore ??"

"What are you talking about !? You saw it too, there is no way we can suppress Sophie. Let's leave it to my sister to handle her. That way we can have some time to relax. Amber , I won't give up on you"

Amber thought, as long as she had Nathan in her grasp, she would still eventually become the first lady of Global pictures. If this was to happen, she would have a chance for a comeback. As for Sophie's spreading her wings , they still had plenty of time.
