Bab 34: SYLUS: All This Is For You

My father's words sounded more like a threat as if he would do something worse than causing a problem if he had to, to show me the consequences of my decision. Fuck. 

I turned to Harley, and she immediately backed up a step, shaking her head, just a bit for me to notice. But there was no getting out of this. My work and the contract were on the line, I couldn't have the net start some kind of scandal. I needed them to believe this marriage wasn't a contract one, it would be better for the face of my company.  

"Sweetheart," the word left my lips so easily as I yanked Harley against me. Her pale blue eyes widened so much that I thought for a second it would pop out of its sockets. She mouthed a 'no' to me, begging, but there was nothing I could do. The only choice here was to do this and get it over with.
