Bab 30: Peck

"says the person who even can't propose to a girl, he is in love with from god knows how many years" – snapped evelyn entering the room with Gao Ling.

Gao ling is the cousin sister of Gao Lee and classmate of evelyn. She is the only daughter to her parents. She is an architect and helps her father in the architecture company that they own. Gao Ling and Joseph have feelings for each other, but both of them are so shy that they can't express their feelings.

But no one could have ever imagined how would this couple become all lovey dovey in the future.

Gao ling who was behind evelyn pinched her friend and bowed her head blushing.

She could not help blushing looking at her one and only. Though they meet each other regularly her heart never stops beating faster every time she sees him.

On the other side, joseph could not stop staring at the beauty who stole his heart. It has been more than 4 years, but he still feels butterflies dancing in his stomach when she smiles. His heart flutters when they both make an eye contact. He too wants to propose to her but don't know why he chickens out every time he sees her.

"why the hell are you pinching me? Did I say something wrong?"- rebuked evelyn who then turned towards xiaoxi and greeted her.

"hello sister in law, I am evelyn. Welcome to the family."

"hello"

"hello sister in law, I am Ling. I am cousin of brother Lee."- ling introduced herself and took out the gift from the paper bag.

"hello"

"Oh, and I have a welcoming gift for you from both of us."- said evelyn.

"no no, you don't have to do this really. Please don't."- politely rejected xiaoxi.

"what are you talking sister in law, there is nothing to be formal about and didn't these guys didn't give you a gift? Shameless creatures only know how to take free treats even though they have lot of money."- evelyn gave a look at the men with disdain

"We picked the gift personally. That's why we are late. Please accept it"- Ling handed over the gift to xiaoxi.

Sighing xiaoxi turned towards Li Jie. Looking at her helpless face, he said

"it's okay. Just take it. You can return the gifts when they get married."

"yes, you are right brother Jie. I want a big gift from you and sister in law, when I get married." – evelyn added shamelessly.

"sure" – smiled xiaoxi.

Slumping on the couch beside yusheng, evelyn put her head on his shoulder and spoke "I'm too tired. Why don't you guys order some food. I'm hungry."

"oh yes food"- exclaimed Gao Lee who then took the menus and passed them over to everyone.

Patting evelyn's head, yusheng asked her in a gentle voice "did you have fun shopping? Did you buy everything you need?"

Sighing she nodded her head and put her arms around his waist "but I am too tired. My legs are paining so much"

Adjusting her hands on his waist and pulling her closer yusheng replied, "eat your food and let's go home, then I will give you your favourite massage okay?"

Smiling at him, she pecked his lips "thank you ah sheng. I love you"

"geez guys, at least stop showing your love in front of us while eating. Can't I just have a meal without thinking that I am still single."- complained Lu Ting.

"Me and my boyfriend can do whatever we want, if you have a problem, go find yourself a girlfriend." – rebuked evelyn.

"babe, it's fiancée not boyfriend anymore"- corrected Yusheng.

"oh, sorry honey, I am still getting used to it. I will be clearer in the future" said evelyn pecking his lips lightly.

Everyone just rolled their eyes and started ordering the food.

Li Jie who observed that xiaoxi was staring and yusheng and evelyn, came closer to her and whispered, "you don't have to be jealous of them, we can give each other pecks, massages and hugs too if you want."

When his hot breath fell on her ears, her heartbeat fastened and listening to his words she Blushed and said "shameless, who wants to give you pecks?"

Chuckling at her, he said "we will see who will give pecks to whom after going home tonight. Just wait and see MRS. Li".

Looking at the new couple whispering to each other and smiling, all the friends gave to looks to each other and smiled.

"How long has it been since brother Jie smiled wholeheartedly. I was worried when you said aunt xuilan forced him to get married. But now looking at him, I think aunt has made a right choice in forcing him." – smiled evelyn.

"they both look so cute too. Sister in law is really much more beautiful than those magazines."- said Ling.

As soon as the food arrived, Li Jie and yusheng sat beside their partners and started to place food on their plates.

Gao Ling who sat beside joseph could only silently eat her food when joseph awkwardly put her favourite food in her plate.

Lu Ting and Gao Lee who are single could only shake their heads and eat food silently.

After the dinner, the girls dragged xiaoxi to the bathroom and started bombarding her with questions.

"sister in law, how come brother jie is so gentle towards you. Did you guys know each other before your marriage?"- asked Ling.

"nope, it was only at the marriage bureau that I saw him for the first time."- said Xiaoxi.

"did you both do it already? Is that the reason?"- asked Evelyn out of nowhere.

"do what?"- asked xiaoxi who clearly didn't understand what she was asking.

"sister in law, she is talking about your first night"- answered ling who had a blush on her face.

"why are you blushing? Did you imagine doing it with joseph?"- teased evelyn.

"you—shut up and weren't you asking sister in law?"- blushed Ling.

Zhang xiaoxi who didn't expect the girls to be so blunt, lowered her head and blushed shaking her head.

"it is understandable that you both didn't do it yet given that you both don't know each other. Well, this confirms that brother Jie likes you. It is good."- said evelyn smiling.
