Bab 20: Chapter 20: Reunited

Rocco sat on his desk, anxiously tapping his fingers on the wooden top just as Takeshi and Mary came in. The couple looked from Rocco to the rest of the people in attendance, feeling the thick tension in the air. They sat next to one another in the chairs positioned in front of Rocco.

“I’m guessing when you said you have info on Vincento,” Mary ventured, “it wasn’t letting us know that you have him hogtied somewhere waiting for me to beat what’s left of his soul out of his body.”

“I wish I had some good news for you, bambina.” Rocco shook his head. “But I don’t.”

Mary swore under breath. “Don’t you tell me that bastard slipped away from us again.”

“We were so distracted with Flannigan, it didn’t even cross our damn minds that that snake would skip town.” Takeshi growled.
