"What made you think I'm not human?" Fanfar discreetly glanced at himself, running his fingers over his cheek to check for any traces of glitter.
"You could say it has this vampire sense," Luna replied with a smile.
"You sound like you know something," Fanfar said, noticing that his skin hadn't shown any glitter, at least not that he could see.
"Honestly, I feel like no one in the house is really human." The wooden staircase creaked beneath their feet as Luna led the way up the clock tower. The spiraling steps stretched into darkness, illuminated only by faint beams of moonlight seeping through the aged cracks in the walls. She took a brief pause and let out a soft giggle, adding a lively touch to her gentle voice. "The cowboy could be an exception."
"Are you talking about a cowboy?" Fanfar inquired in a lighthearted manner, although he was growing more cautious of their surroundings. "Hey, where are you going?"
