"Never!" Jenna spoke up, raising her voice a bit.
Ru tossed aside the bunch of garlic and picked up a knife instead, sitting at the edge of the bed. "Why not?" He asked in an impressive tone.
"No way," Jenna said, turning her head in the opposite direction.
"But I need a girlfriend," Ru said with a sweet, innocent voice.
"Not my problem," Jenna replied, her chest heaving rapidly.
Ru leaned over her and said gently, "I know everything about you, Jenna,"
Jenna let out a little whimper, biting her lip to keep quiet, drawing blood.
Ru gently touched the blood that was trickling from her lip with his fingertip. "Oh, you're losing blood. Why are you doing this? I don't understand."
As he observed the rapid clotting on his fingertip, he frowned. "I was good care of your body. I punished your enemies. I raised your grades. Why would you become a vampire, huh?!"
"You killed my family, you jerk," Jenna said through gritted teeth.
Ru took off his rabbit mask. He grabbed Jenna's cheeks and forcibly turned her face towards his, showing her the mask. "The person who gave you this mask killed your family." And then he pulled his hand back.
"He is my lord, and I know he would never do such things to me. Never! He saved me! He made me immortal!" Jenna shouted.
Ru said, "Think whatever you want," and threw the mask. He pulled out the knife and pricked his fingertip.
Jenna noticed the smell of blood and turned to him suddenly. She spun around with such force that he almost broke the chains holding her body.
"Oh, you're bloodthirsty, vamp lady," Ru said excitedly. Jenna's intense passion gave him the adrenaline rush he needed. Despite this, he was scared and fled towards the edge of the bed.
Jenna's eyes were locked on Ru's finger. Her nostrils were filled with the smell of blood. She leaped forward with fury, trying to free herself from the chains, but was stopped by the chains again.
Ru, who had gotten up from the bed, was watching Jenna's reaction closely. After a moment of silence, he spoke up.
"I know, Jenna. Your thirst is unbearable. I'm willing to give you my blood regularly. But as I said, you will be my girlfriend. And you will live here with me. I have no sexual desire. I just... I want to prove to my aunt that I can have a girlfriend."
"Alright," Jenna said quickly. "Come on! Come and give me your blood!"
"Not all of it. I could die, right?" Ru said, expecting an answer from the djinn, not the girl.
"I won't kill you, I promise. Please come," Jenna said in a cute and pitiful tone.
"It still makes more sense to put it in a glass," Ru said, his fear growing and finding it hard to control himself.
"Are you my boyfriend or what? I can't wait to find out! Why are you avoiding me?" Jenna said, her voice soft, her eyes wet, and her smile radiant.
"I was supposed to impress, not be impressed," Ru protested.
"My dear, my love, you're losing blood. Come on, darling, I'll take a sip," Jenna said, her voice brimming with excitement.
Ru took a few steps toward the bed, gathering his courage.
Jenna's eyes were fixed on Ru's every step. Ru took a deep breath and made a clean, not-too-deep cut on his wrist with the knife. When the blood started dripping from his wrist, Jenna's eyes sparkled even more.
Ru sat on the edge of the bed and extended his wrist towards Jenna. "Here, take it. But promise, only as much as you need."
Jenna grasped Ru's wrist and took a deep breath, inhaling the scent of the blood. Then, she leaned over his wrist and sank her teeth into it.
"Take it easy!" Ru shouted.
When Jenna's lips pressed against the cut on his wrist, a shiver ran through him.
"I think that's enough..." he muttered.
As Jenna sipped his blood, her skin took on a smoother quality, her eyes brightened and seemed more alluring, and her hair came alive in a way it had never done before. Jenna was looking more and more beautiful, and her expression was changing too. She looked much calmer and even angelic.
"Jenna, you're... you're changing," Ru said, unable to take his eyes off her.
A thunderous noise erupted in his head, "What did you do?"
"Ha, djinn, I was just..." Ru began, his voice cutting off as a burst of light blinded him.
There was an undeniable connection between Jenna and Ru. It was as if lightning had struck between them.
Even though he was hit, Ru was focused on one thing: his feelings. "Is this what we mean by love? Does love have an effect like being exposed to electrical energy? Is it normal for love to cause pain? Is love really like this? What is love?"
As Ru got lost in his thoughts, he had the sensation of flying.
Maybe he was flying.
His flight ended when he crashed into the wall and fell onto the wooden floor.
He smelled burning.
A moment later, he fainted.
Immediately after the explosion, the witch ran up the stairs, following the magical glow from her orb. When she got to the corridor, she pointed the way. At her command, the sphere hit the door and knocked it over.
When Anaxarete walked into the room, she saw Ru sitting against the wall, head down, legs apart, unconscious. Right across from him was a broken bed with a charred corpse on it.
"How did this happen?" Anaxarete asked. She was about to turn to Ru when she heard a loud crackling sound.
The orb, floating above the bed, was caught in a lightning trap. Anaxarete could hear the orb crying and screaming "Mom" in a baby voice.
Anaxarete turned quickly to Ru. She found him standing upright. She looked directly into his lightning-filled eyes and shouted, "You!" She was angry. "How dare you come into my house like this?"
"Is this boy your home?" said the voice that came out of Ru's mouth, its rumble shaking the windows of the building.
"Oh, it's you, Sultan," Anaxarete said, raising her eyebrows and looking up and down at Ru.
"Sultan? I didn't know that. Thanks for the information," the djinn said and snapped Ru's finger to deactivate the lightning trap.
Anaxarete lovingly embraced the orb that quickly flew toward her and kissed it tenderly. She took a deep breath and turned to the Sultan. "I have more information about you, my dear. But I need to calm down a bit before I can talk to you because you've hurt my baby," she said.
"Do I know you?" the Sultan asked.
"Oh, of course," Anaxarete said, playing with a lock of her hair to relieve her stress. "It's good that you've forgotten me."
"Then you must be my enemy."
"Oh no, no, no! We would get along well. Before Ru, of course."
"Did this boy come between us?"
"No, a bigger version of this one. Let's say, yours."
"Does he belong to me?"
Anaxarete was trying to put her orb to sleep by rocking it like a baby. She spoke softly, "Don't worry, my dear. I want to remind you of who you are. But first, how about we have some tea?"
"Good idea."
"I baked a wonderful cake using a new recipe. I exactly want you to taste it. Besides, you have a body now."
"It seems so," the Sultan said, looking at Ru's hands.
"But this body you possessed... How shall I say... is problematic for our potential alliance."
"Why?"
"Because our enemy can communicate with that body."
"Then find me a living body."
"If you wait here and don't cause me any more trouble, why not?"
"Deal."
"I'll be right back," said Anaxarete. She signaled to her broom, waiting on the threshold, to sweep the room.
"No need, I'll clean up," the Sultan said.
As Anaxarete's eyes widened, she released the sphere in her lap like a bird. She leaned forward slightly, a mixture of curiosity and pleasure on her face. "Wow! You're so kind," she said.
"Shouldn't I?" the Sultan said, his playful attitude revealed by the light flashing in his eyes.
"No, no," Anaxarete said with a big smile. "Yes, yes," she said, her eyes twinkling. Then she ran down the stairs.
Anaxarete surveyed the damage at the cafe after the explosion. Chairs were overturned, and shards of glass were everywhere. People had fled, and the police were at the door.
"Police..."
The officer smelled like the ocean, and he seemed simply gorgeous! He was tall, athletic, wheat-skinned, almond-eyed, and a sexy man.
"So sexy!"
"I don't understand, lady."
"Come, baby! I will give you a superior brain to understand what you do not understand."
