Currently, they were in the fortress. Lou was explaining a few things to Cane about what he was going to do about the protection around the Howling Wolf pack.

The merchant grinned to see how furious the Beta toward his alpha was. "It seems, I am not the only one who is dissatisfied with your decisions. You are a terrible decision maker." Lou didn't hold back when he mocked Cane, though he was laughing harmlessly, as if what he said was just a friendly joke.

He had been very upset because he couldn't see Iris, not even a glimpse of her auburn hair, but the profit that Cane offered to him was too important for his greedy ass to stir trouble to this alpha beyond repair.
