Vincenzo's voice snapped me out of my dazed state. I startled a bit, awestruck by his voice. Smiling from ear to ear, I poured the liquor down into his glass. However, my hands and tact were a little clumsy.

I dropped the slow poison in his liquor. I had no choice but to follow king Nicolas. I tried to be selfish here. I am the Lycan Queen now. I could bring down Duncan without anyone's help. Vincenzo was always just a pawn for me but my heart felt guilty. Ever since my wolf knew about my plan of betrayal, she stopped responding to me.

Duncan didn't try to tell Vincenzo anything. Probably he thought that he would be implicated as well if he tried to tell Vincenzo about Nicolas. I felt another burn in my heart, remembering the hatred in Nicolas's eyes. The twist in my heart felt so bad that I appeared vulnerable from outside.
