It was raining fiercely when Fionna the Amateur was summoned by the Scarlet Mother who served as the Head of the Red Sisters.

The gauntly woman was sat on her chair that almost resembled a throne, examining her fingers in the light with a pout on her lips. She chanced a glance at the young girl before her who was barely a woman at just fourteen years old. And yet, somehow, Fionna the Amateur had managed to acquire a beauty and maturity that rivalled her age.

It was not always that one came across the kind of gem that sat across her. And for the Scarlet mother, in the young woman's case, hers had been a case of the rejected stone becoming the corner stone.
