Skylar's POV

Friday. Right. That stupid task in the contract.

I exhaled slowly, trying to get a grip. Of course, how did I even forget about it? Today was the day I had to go along with this whole "public display of affection" charade. Yet when he called me love, I could feel the turmoil inside my heart.

"You don't have to look horrified." He assured me. "It's in the contract."

I rolled my eyes, biting back the urge to respond with the sarcastic retort.

Salony was itching to throw out. "He is a jerk, a hot jerk." she muttered.

"You do realize that pretending to be all lovey-dovey in front of your sister who obviously knows something is off won't help either of us, right?" I said, my voice more controlled now.

Alec raised an eyebrow. "You think I am that bad at acting?"
