Nothing was as infuriating as silence. It was too quiet and unpredictable. After a while, Mimi could not take it anymore and was the first to break it. 

"You shouldn't take Ezra's words to heart. He's mischievous and loves to joke around and I'm sure that he was merely trying to get to you." Mimi tried to convince him not to take the event to heart. 

But Victor answered with a biting tone, "You sure know him too much for someone you met for the first time in less than twenty-four hours." 

And that comment was enough to make Mimi's expression change. She turned to Victor with a serious look, 

"What are you trying to say, Victor?" 

"I'm driving," He hinted that he might crash if they got into that argument that was brewing between them. 

"Then pull over," Mimi said. He was not going to trigger this conversation and stop halfway. They would see this to the end.
