There were others in Acheria, others who could protect the area that it was made to defend. She didn't need to be there, and in truth she didn't really want to sit around and wait for the Bloody Dawn to come to her.

Life on the frontier was rather tough, even in a place like Edenia where humanity had grown into a thriving community. She had needed to learn how to fight from a young age. In fact, some of her earliest memories were of training with her father.

She knew how to navigate her way through the Edenian wilderness, learning how to track and use the surroundings to figure out where she was and what direction to go in. She knew how to fight, and could use a variety of tools to help her if she ran into trouble of any kind.

She had a lightweight rifle along with a blade that she could use to defend herself at close range. She figured that she wouldn't be too long out there, so decided to pass up on the idea of taking any of the base's rations with her.
