Chapter Six: Behind Closed Doors
Lydia Moore glanced back and saw a group of staff members in matching uniforms arriving, carrying cameras, tripods, monitors, tracks, and wide-angle lenses. They quickly set up everything needed for the shoot.
A makeup artist was on tiptoe, adjusting Aaron King's hair. Everyone else was busy preparing for the upcoming shoot, while Aaron King, who seemed accustomed to such scenes, coolly kept his hands in his pockets, showing little patience as the staff fussed over his hairstyle and attire.
The girls watched breathlessly from the window. Lev's advertisements were renowned for their beauty, and regardless of the shoot's outcome, the fact that Aaron King, the incredibly handsome "National Golden Prince," was the star was enough to capture everyone's attention. Furthermore, the young model Tina was also a significant draw in the industry. Their collaboration was sure to bring Lev substantial commercial benefits.
"Wow, Aaron King is so handsome and cool," several girls couldn't help but whisper excitedly.
Lydia Moore was also curious about the scene outside, but her focus wasn't on Aaron King like the others. Instead, she was fascinated by the on-site shooting process she had never seen before. She had always wondered how a great advertisement came to be. Moreover, she admired the aesthetic style of Lev's ads and was intrigued by how the perfect combination of Aaron King's sharp features and Tina's beauty could enhance the visual appeal and attention of the commercial.
Once everything was ready, the shooting began. The staff dispersed to their respective positions, following the pre-assigned roles.
The director glanced at the monitor, and after confirming that Aaron King was ready under the phoenix tree, he raised a roll of documents high. However, just as he was about to shout "Action," a shrill scream interrupted him. They felt a rush of wind and a faint scent in the air.
The staff, initially focused on their tasks, looked up in surprise at the girl who had abruptly appeared on set. Her beauty rivaled Tina's, but the evident anger on her face undermined her attractiveness. The disruption in such a hot summer day, causing them to sweat even more, made them quite irritated.
"Looks like there's a show to watch," Ava Blue said with a hint of sarcasm, observing the commotion outside. It seemed Nina Wells didn't understand Aaron King's aversion to unreasonable behavior, especially during work. Her actions would likely only increase his dislike for her.
Lydia Moore, intrigued by Aaron King's charm, now scrutinized his features closely. His clean, healthy complexion made his well-dyed brown hair stand out, appearing smooth and shiny. His thick, straight eyebrows and long lashes framed eyes that sparkled like stars but carried a lazy allure. His straight nose curved slightly, resembling a prince from a fairy tale. His rose-colored, thin lips had a captivating quality. Regardless of the angle, Aaron King had a magnetic appeal for women.
But Lydia Moore wondered, even if he was handsome and cool, was it really worth all the fuss and jealousy from so many girls?
"Nina Wells," Nina Wells stormed up to Aaron King, completely abandoning her usual composed demeanor. "Why are you denying that we were dating?" She couldn't understand why, after he had kissed her just last night, he was now pursuing Tina, who was working with him on the Lev ad. Even if he had no feelings for her, he shouldn't have discarded her so quickly.
"We were never dating," Aaron King said, looking at her with clear annoyance. "You can leave now." If she thought a kiss equated to a relationship, she was incredibly naïve. It was just a kiss—what could it prove?
"Leave?" Tears welled up in Nina Wells's eyes immediately. "I won't. You kissed me, so you should take responsibility." She couldn't accept that this hard-earned relationship was ending. After putting so much effort into getting Aaron King's attention and a kiss, being discarded so easily would make her a laughingstock at Sakura Academy.
The director, recognizing the situation as a typical case of Aaron King's ex-girlfriend causing trouble, shook his head helplessly. He had heard numerous rumors about Aaron King's many relationships, but he was the only choice for the role in this ad. Despite the situation, he had to turn a blind eye. He feared that intervening might anger Aaron King and jeopardize the ad, so he signaled the staff to avoid interfering and chose to observe quietly, hoping the girl would leave soon.
"Take responsibility?" Aaron King scoffed, as if he had heard the biggest joke. Wrapping his long arm around Tina's shoulders, he pulled her into an embrace. "Watch closely." He glanced at the stationary Nina Wells and then lowered his head, his cool lips meeting Tina's.
The dense foliage of the phoenix tree created a lush, refreshing setting beneath it. The summer breeze carried a hint of warmth, gently stirring the boy's exquisitely patterned shirt. His kiss was lingering and passionate.
The air, charged by the fiery kiss, felt almost suffocating.
