Chapter Eight: Hidden Agendas

Aaron King reluctantly walked to the designated shooting spot, raising an eyebrow and casting Lydia Moore a doubtful glance as if questioning her ability to play Vivaldi. Lydia, however, stuck out her tongue at him. If it weren't for the director's anxious expression, she wouldn't have bothered playing the violin for this playboy. Yet another twist in the commercial required a live performance; his demands were truly endless.

After the earlier disruptions, the crew threw themselves into their work with renewed dedication. With the director's signal, the shoot began in earnest.

The faint fragrance of jasmine filled the air, lush and enchanting.

The melodious, winding music flowed slowly, like a cool spring that softened and clarified the heart.

In the romantic silence, the male and female leads gazed at each other, their smiles as bright as moonlight. Every detail, from the camera angles to the lighting, was immaculate and delicate.

Lydia Moore played her violin quietly, recalling a scene she had seen on a large screen in the Qingli classroom. It had left a deep impression on her.

That summer, with sunshine streaming through the glass house windows and birds chirping joyfully, the graceful and elegant Vivaldi, dressed in a simple yet beautiful gown, performed various entrancing summer violin pieces with her musicians at the National Botanic Garden in Wales. The young Vivaldi was as pure and noble as an angel, and the violin in her hands was brought to life, the melodies ranging from bold to soothing, intimate and soft as whispers between lovers, narrating the story of summer.

The summer sun blazed, with trees and grass weary, and the call of the cuckoo was lively and vibrant. Pigeons and canaries sang their hearts out. A gentle breeze turned into a sudden north wind, disrupting the summer's peace. (Excerpt from Vivaldi's *The Four Seasons*)

Perhaps only someone as pure as Vivaldi could be worthy of playing the world's most benevolent, simple, and pure music with Ethan Knight. Lydia Moore opened her eyes lightly, hearing the director's "perfect" and the cheers and applause from the crew. The shooting was over, and the people on set began to pack up and prepare to leave.

"Hey—"

The voice made Lydia Moore squint, glancing at the expressionless yet strikingly cool Aaron King. "Were you calling me?"

He blinked his clear eyes and said with two short words, "For you." He tossed a small item to her casually.

"What's this?" Lydia Moore looked down at the perfectly aimed object in her hand. The bright blue packaging sparkled in the sunlight, its delicate and charming design instantly appealing. It was… the limited edition chocolate from Lev that Aaron King had held during the shoot. It seemed very precious to her. Was he really giving it to her?

"Just consider it a reward," Aaron King said, still maintaining his cool demeanor, but internally acknowledging that the music played by this seemingly naive girl had a soothing magic he had never experienced before, making him find some enjoyment in the ad shoot for the first time. "Also…" He took a few steps but then turned back, seemingly teasing. "It sounded good." A rare smile briefly touched his lips before disappearing as he turned and walked away.

Lydia Moore held the chocolate in her palm, murmuring the fine print on the wrapper: "Dusk and fields, the edge of love and time." She suddenly felt a sense of happiness. Perhaps this guy wasn't so bad after all.

The rustling of leaves and the subtle touches of emotion filled her with anticipation and hope.

The sky was dazzlingly bright, with white clouds drifting slowly. The green leaves of the phoenix tree swayed gently, and the cuckoo hopped over the grass dotted with red roses and orchids, all bathed in sunlight. With a month to go before the new school year, Lydia Moore began her summer journey at Sakura Academy. The summer cherry blossoms were truly beautiful. She paused her pen, watching the leaves shimmer under the sunlight.

At the front of the classroom, a young and gentle female teacher was explaining the works of the composer Bach to the students. Everyone was quietly taking notes, the soft scratching of pens on paper filling the room. For art students, the basic music class was a crucial part of their curriculum, and the teacher's engaging explanations made it even more captivating. The students listened intently, occasionally laughing at the teacher's witty remarks.

The teacher suddenly stopped and looked at the girl by the window, who appeared lost in thought. After a moment, she placed her book on the desk and smiled gently at Lydia Moore. "Lydia Moore, could you please name four classic works by Bach from his 'Cöthen Period'?" She knew this question would be covered in the next class, and she wasn't trying to make things difficult for her. It was simply that she had heard about Lydia's excellent performance at Qingli and was curious if the rumors were true.

All eyes turned to Lydia Moore, wondering if she could answer the question. Since her arrival in the class, there had been questions about her transition from Qingli, a public school focused on knowledge and skills, to Sakura Academy, which specialized in arts, study abroad, and finance. Her choice of an art major seemed unusual, and her plain appearance and reserved nature only added to the curiosity. Yet, after a few days, interest in her had waned.
