Bab 157: My Knight

Both children freeze, wide-eyed. 

"Is that Kate?" Ramsey whispers, his voice barely above a whisper. 

"Yes! Quick, hide!" Robin urges, shoving the map into a corner and crouching down behind a stack of old crates. 

Ramsey follows suit, his heart racing. They hold their breath as the door creaks open. 

"Robin! I know you're in here!" Kate's voice rings out, authoritative and firm. 

Robin exchanges a nervous glance with Ramsey. 

"Please don't find us!" she silently pleads. 

"young mistress!" Kate calls again, stepping further into the shed. 

Robin can hear the maid's footsteps drawing closer, and her heart pounds in her chest. 

Just as Kate approaches their hiding spot, a loud creak emanates from the floorboards. 

"Who's there?" Kate demands, spinning around. 

Robin and Ramsey exchange panicked looks, trying to stifle their giggles. 

"Come out this instant!" Kate insists, her voice growing more serious.
