Bab 41: Improve again

These rewards were nothing special to Wang Yi. The idea of becoming a disciple of 'Hong' or 'Thunder God' didn't appeal to him. Signing up under their names just for guidance was sufficient for him.

Inspector Wang asked for Wang Yi's thoughts, and after learning that he wasn't interested in becoming a disciple, tried to persuade him briefly. But seeing that Wang Yi had made up his mind, though slightly regretful, the inspector didn't press further.

Wang Yi returned to his residence at Jiangnan Pavilion, bringing the silver suitcase containing the rewards from the Extreme Martial Arts Club. The 10 billion in activity funds had already been credited to his account after signing the contract, so now, he had over 14 billion in total.

From April to July 1st, in just a short span, Wang Yi's financial situation had changed significantly. However, money held little importance to him. What he truly needed couldn't be bought with money.

The training camp had initially planned to assign a God of War teacher for Wang Yi, likely Jiang Fang, a prominent instructor at the Jiangnan Base City's village. But Wang Yi rejected the arrangement outright, pointing out that even if his swordsmanship wasn't superior to Jiang Fang's, they were at least equals.

Having another teacher would only waste time, as Wang Yi preferred to focus on mastering the Ninefold Thunder Saber and refining his own sword techniques. Since he had no need for instruction, Wang Yi was free to manage his own time, aside from the occasional monster hunt assigned to him (due to his ranking of 184th in the Black Dragon rankings last month).

Returning to the courtyard at Jiangnan Pavilion, Wang Yi glanced at the homes of Shi Jiang and Zhao Ruo. Neither seemed to be there, likely out hunting monsters, but Wang Yi didn't dwell on it.

In the secret basement room of Wang Yi's residence, bright lights illuminated the enclosed space, which was tightly sealed but had a perfect ventilation system. Despite being a closed area, it didn't feel hot or stuffy, not that heat bothered a martial artist's body.

Wang Yi placed the silver suitcase on the alloy floor. After fingerprint verification, the suitcase opened automatically. Inside were two wooden boxes, one containing a test tube filled with golden liquid, and the other holding a delicate white jade bottle. Alongside these was an instruction manual, which Wang Yi carefully read.

The chalcedony was to be taken orally, while the dragon blood was to be applied to the body. Both would significantly enhance physical fitness, though dragon blood was far more potent than chalcedony. Dragon blood was worth 80 billion, while chalcedony was priced at 30 billion. These were internal prices at Xtreme Martial Arts Gym; the external costs would be much higher.

Dragon blood's effect varied based on the user's strength—the weaker the user, the greater the boost. For a warrior-level martial artist, dragon blood could quadruple their strength. Chalcedony, on the other hand, provided a fixed increase of 10,000 kg in strength, regardless of the user's level.

Dragon blood and chalcedony could also be used together to enhance the effects, something Wang Yi was eager to try. At his current level, his physical strength was about 8,000 kg. Dragon blood alone could potentially quadruple that, while chalcedony would add another 10,000 kg. He was curious to see just how much his overall fitness would improve.

With anticipation building, Wang Yi set of to work.

...

After some time, the heavy iron door of the basement slowly creaked open, and a black-haired teenager with bronzed skin and toned muscles emerged. His figure had become taller, more slender, and even his once-youthful face had taken on a mature appearance.

Wang Yi looked down at his hands with a hint of helplessness. "Dragon blood has certainly improved my physical fitness, but it's also changed my skin color," he thought, though he didn't need a mirror to see the difference.

Nevertheless, Wang Yi's physical fitness had been enhanced to extraordinary levels. His mental power had also grown significantly, though he wasn't sure by how much. When he had first entered the basement, it had been afternoon, but now it was evening, and the training camp was bathed in night, with a towering structure standing in the center—a small martial arts hall on the fifth floor of the Ninth Floor.

Now wearing a white training uniform, Wang Yi stood before a punching strength testing machine, his expression calm and eyes focused.

"Let's see just how strong I've become after using the dragon blood, chalcedony, and enhancing my mental power."

Stepping back, Wang Yi took a deep breath. His muscles tightened, and without using any special techniques, relying solely on brute strength, he punched the target. His fist moved so fast it broke the sound barrier, slamming into the black target with immense force.

BANG!

The specially reinforced target designed to withstand over a million kilograms of force from a God of War vibrated violently. The display showed the result: 216,725 kg.

Wang Yi was stunned but thrilled. Even though he had prepared himself, seeing this number still surprised him.

In his mind, a dark golden orb that had stored a lot of his mental power had shattered during the strengthening process, further enhancing his abilities.

The strength ranges for God of War were as follows:

1. Junior God of War: 64,000 kg to 128,000 kg

2. Middle God of War: 128,000 kg to 256,000 kg

3. Senior God of War: 256,000 kg to 512,000 kg

Wang Yi's physical strength now surpassed the middle God of War level, even approaching the senior God of War class. His mental power, on the other hand, had reached the peak of the higher God of War level.

Before using the enhancements, Wang Yi's body strength had been around 8,000 kg. Now, his true physical capacity was close to 72,000 kg. Dragon blood, chalcedony, and mental power had together added over 63,000 kg to his strength.

After subtracting the fixed 10,000 kg boost from chalcedony, dragon blood had increased his strength by around 24,000 kg, with his mental power contributing the remaining 27,000 kg.

There was still residual dragon blood in his body, which would continue to be absorbed, further accelerating his cultivation.

And with the shattering of the dark golden orb, his mental power was set to grow even faster, though not as dramatically as before.

In any case, Wang Yi now possessed a physical strength close to the level of a senior God of War, and his mental power had reached the peak of this level. He was nearly invincible among Gods of War, with only planetary-level beings posing a serious threat.
