Ye Chen left and returned to Sky Lake Manor.

Just as he turned the corner, he almost collided with Ling'er. She shouted, "Can't you watch where you're going?"

"You weren't watching either," said Ye Chen.

"Oh, so you've returned alone. You didn't bring your 'mom' back! You must be out there looking for old men again," Ling'er said.

Taken aback, he retorted, "Your words are not very pleasant. You seem irritated."

"Did you lure her into that courtyard to engage in indecent activities?" She had seen them turn into the courtyard.

"My bride-to-be is so fiery even before we're officially married, I wonder how it will be in future."

"Who agreed to be your wife?"

"Really! But I heard your father say that you agreed, and he was particularly pleased with me.''"

"I reckon you're being thick-skinned. You're clearly reluctant, why didn't you leave? If you don't like it you can leave, no one's holding you back."
