Wang Chu decided to visit the Capital after the conversation he had with the sky devouring beast. The first thing he noticed about whats different in this Empire is the vibrant yet organized atmosphere. Especially the arena in where people was lining up to bet.
The air was charged with excitement, all the spectators were cheering loudly for their favorite combatant. Wang Chu and his disciples maneuvered through the sea of chanting fans, swiftly walking towards their destination. They managed to find a vantage point that overlooked the arena and marveled at it's sight. "Master this place is brimming with energy!" Su Chen said with calm eyes.
Wang Chu nodded in agreement but his gaze never strayed from observing the battles below them. He noticed that among the flock of cultivators, someone with a relatively young age has an aura different around him.
Old Ji also kept his gaze on the fights but rotated his head slightly to look around their area with a critical eye. "It's easy to forget our purpose when we watch such events." He cautioned.
Xiao Chi leaned forward eagerly, His curiosity getting the better of him."Master are we watching the fights or are you looking for something?"
Wang Chu smiled faintly as he watched one of the fighters land a powerful blow on their opponent. "We are here to gather information Xiao Chi." He answered patiently knowing it wouldn't calm him down. "Keep your senses open."
As they settled into position Wang Chu heard whispers from a nearby group about someone who had placed substantial bets in favor of certain fighters.
Su Chen followed his masters gaze after picking up on what he was hearing. "Could it be… Murong Lingyun?"
Wang Chu nodded ever so slightly. "It might be." He admitted finally taking his eyes off of one of the heated matches.
Old Ji played detective and connected more dots than anyone else."If Murong Lingyun is here then I assure you it means more than just him having interest in battles."
Xiao Chi gasped as if something clicked suddenly. "He understands secrets about power and control that no other person has discovered yet." They whispered to themselves deep in thought.
They all fell silent as they watched the crowd to see if any suspicious movements could be noted. Wang Chu's ears were tuned in to every sound, his eyes took in every movement that was out of place. They watched the crowd like a hawk, searching high and low for any signs of what Murong Lingyun was truly up to.
Seconds turned into minutes and still nothing had happened. The tension was getting so thick you could cut it with a butterknife, when suddenly everyone's head turned in unison towards one section of the stands.
"Look there!" Su Chen exclaimed pointing at a figure sitting far back cloaked in darkness but radiating power and authority.
Wang Chu didn't seem phased by him being here if anything he was glad they found him."That may be him." He said quietly to himself scanning the stands for other possible suspects.
Old Ji after taking note of his surroundings spoke up quickly "If he is here then something big must be going on." His voice held mystery but demanded attention. "We can't make a move without thinking it through first."
Xiao Chi's eyes widened drastically as he too finally put two and two together."He knows that there is more than just strength involved in winning battles..."
Xiao Chi, his excitement barely contained, leaned into Wang Chu. "So, do we get to play spies now, Master?" He laughed quietly with a mischievous smile, eyes shining with enthusiasm.
Wang Chu chuckled softly, thoroughly amused by Xiao Chi's spirit. "In some ways," he said in a joking manner that still held weight. "But remember this is all very serious information we're collecting."
"Yes sir!" Xiao Chi nodded eagerly with an even brighter grin than before.
Su Chen's lips curled up at the corners of her mouth in response to Xiao Chi's antics. He noticed that although Xiao Chi experienced something horrible. He didn't lose any of his vibrant nature and curiosity. This kind of attitude affected him in a huge way. From being unable to advance, and getting injured to getting lost in the lower realm, he thought that his life was full of misfortune. It is also the reason why he helped Xiao Chi wiped out his enemy clan, to
As they watched the scene below them unfold, Xiao Chi would occasionally whisper his dramatic interpretation of the events as they went along which frequently caused Su Chen to laugh quietly and shake her head. "Master! Look at that guy down there! He bet a giant coin and won!" He pointed out someone absolutely ridiculous down on the floor.
Wang Chu allowed himself to appreciate the comments from his apprentice which helped him view this mission from a different perspective.
Wang Chu, keenly observing the unfolding events in the arena, couldn't help but notice a pattern every time Murong Lingyun placed a bet. Each time Murong whispered to his attendant, their chosen fighter emerged victorious without fail. Wang Chu's interest was piqued, and he knew there was more to Murong's success than mere luck or intuition.
Turning to the system embedded within his consciousness, Wang Chu sought answers about Murong Lingyun's abilities. "System, what is Murong Lingyun's Innate Talent and Attribute?" he inquired, his voice filled with curiosity and determination.
The system, ever ready to provide information, responded promptly. "It is a rare ability known as Chrono Visionary Sight," it relayed, the words appearing in Wang Chu's mind like a scroll unraveling with hidden knowledge.
Wang Chu absorbed the information, his thoughts racing as he considered the implications of Murong Lingyun's unique gift. Chrono Visionary Sight, a talent that allowed its wielder to foresee the outcomes of events before they unfolded, was a formidable ability in the realm of strategy and prediction.
As Wang Chu mulled over this revelation, he glanced at Murong Lingyun once more, his eyes narrowing slightly in newfound respect for the prodigious figure. "So, he sees the future in a sense," he murmured to himself, impressed by the depth of Murong's abilities.
Old Ji, attuned to his Master's thoughts, leaned in subtly. "Master, if Murong possesses Chrono Visionary Sight, it explains his calculated moves and strategic prowess," he deduced, his tone reflecting a mix of admiration and intrigue.
Su Chen, always insightful, added his perspective to the discussion. "With such a talent, Murong Lingyun can influence outcomes subtly, steering events in his desired direction," he pointed out, his eyes flickering with newfound understanding.
Xiao Chi, though initially taken aback by the revelation, couldn't contain his excitement. "Wow, that's like having a cheat in real life!" he exclaimed, his imagination running wild with possibilities.
Wang Chu nodded thoughtfully, his mind already strategizing their next steps. "Indeed, it grants him a significant advantage," he acknowledged, his gaze once again fixed on Murong Lingyun, who seemed unperturbed by the attention around him.
Old Ji, ever the strategist, outlined their potential course of action. "If Murong can influence outcomes, we must approach our interactions with him cautiously," he advised, his years of experience guiding his words.
"He can't use it on everyone, you've met someone with a Chrono Visionary Sight in the past and you know that although they're strong, they're not that overpowered." Wang Chu said calmly.
Old Ji's face twitched as he thought of something else. "If he relies on his future sight too much," Old Ji posed a question which caused Wang Chu's eyes to light up, "Isn't it possible that he would want to test it against someone stronger?"
Wang Chu analyzes this idea deeply before responding. "It won't be easy for him to agree." He turns away from Old Ji and looks at Murong Lingyun in the stands again, "But we can offer him conditions that are hard to pass up."
Old Ji leans forward and says, "What conditions?!"
The corner of Wang Chu's mouth twitches slightly as he says, "We will let them have a staged fight in the arena." In exchange for sharing knowledge about how to unlock his full potential."
Su Chen was taken aback by Wang Chu's words but remained composed. "I'm ready for anything master," Su Chen spoke with confidence and determination that would send chills down anyone's spine.
Xiao Chi couldn't help but feel excited at the prospect of what was going on. He whispers loudly while bouncing around excitedly, "So we get to watch a real showdown...and unlock secret powers?"
As soon as the words left Xiao Chi's mouth Su Chen released an absolute Killing Intent towards where Murong Lingyun was sitting. The crowd shivered collectively due to its intensity, some high level cultivators noticed that the one who released the killing intent is deliberately targeting Murong Lingyun. A cultivation with a Golden Core, although it is above average when it comes masses, this is the capital where Saints and Emperors are stationed. They don't know if this guy is confident in his strength or just arrogant beyond words.
Wang Chu's gaze shifted towards Murong Lingyun sitting in the stands. Their eyes locked for a moment, and even though it seemed like just some kind of glare, Murong could feel the absolute confidence behind it. A ghostly smile appeared on his face as he realized that he would have to use all his powers to bring out what he needed to win because he couldn't see through the middle age man and the old man.
Old Ji took this opportunity to communicate with Murong Lingyun telepathically. The voice that Old Ji spoke with was devious, "Young Master Murong Lingyun." His voice echoed throughout the arena inside of Murong's mind. "Would you be willing to have a friendly match in the arena?"
"Oh, and what can I get if I accept your challenge?" You're not forcing me to fight, are you old man? Murong Lingyun smoothly rose up from his seat like he practiced a thousand times before, then calmly walked down to the arena. The reason he agreed to the fight is that, this is the first time he tried to foresee someones future and every results end up in death and the destruction of Yan Empire.
Su Chen's Killing Intent faded away and calmness took its place as he prepared himself mentally for what comes next. Xiao Chi leaned forward with wide eyes full of anticipation. He had completely fallen into the midst of this fight's spectacle.
Murong Lingyun never looked away from Su Chen, he just couldn't shake off the reality that dawned upon him. This wasn't just any other battle; he might be able to forced to fight in his full strength.
"If you injure my Disciple, I will give you a chance that can enhance your heavenly eyes". The silence in the arena after Wang Chu spoke hung thick in the air. The anticipation from both sides nearly palpable as they stared each other down across the arena.
