Bab 47: Chapter 47 - Original Mage
Andex and Lenia were surprised to see Adrian, a mage, in the middle of the forest. As they approached him, Lenia felt a strange energy coming from him, unlike any she had ever felt before. They introduced themselves as mage members of the Black Star organization and expressed their pleasure at meeting him.
Andex introduced himself and his friend pretty formally.
"Greetings, I am Andex, a mage of the Black Star. And this is my colleague, Lenia."
Lenia: "Hello, nice to meet you. We were passing through Glen Forest when we noticed your campfire. We didn't expect to find another mage out here."
Adrian first thought of how to answer and then tried to use formal language like Andex.
"Ah, yes. I am Adrian, a mage as well. It's nice to meet you both."
"Likewise, what brings you out here in the forest?"
Andex asked. He tried to be as kind and not rude as possible. A mage's basic demeanor is to treat other mage with respect.Especially an unknown mage with unknown abilities.
Adrian liked the demeanor and behavior of the Andex. He answered truthfully, without hiding too much.
"I have settled here with my people. We are building a community and working on various projects. What about you two? What brings you to this area?"
This time, Lenia answered.
"We were on a mission to investigate some disturbances in the magical energy around here. We didn't expect to find a thriving community in the middle of the forest."
Andex commented and complimented Adrian.
"Yes, it's quite impressive what you've done here with your people. We would love to learn more about it and possibly even assist you with your endeavors."
Adrian thought a little and then answered.
"I am sorry, but for the time being, I have no intention of opening my area and border to visitors or anything else."
"Do not take offense; it is just a preference."
Andex just smiled and nodded.
"Of course, you have every right to hide what you are doing." "It is Maverick Rule 4."
Adrian stopped for a second and thought, "Maverick Rule 4."
Andex and Lenia both noticed the pause in Adrian's words. They were both mages and intelligent; compared to ordinary humans, almost all mages are geniuses, as being a mage requires a strong amount of intelligence.
Andex starts to talk before Adrian has a chance to speak.
"Adrian, I think you are the original mage; am I right?"
Adrian took a deep breath and then spoke.
"I am not sure what you mean by original mage."
Andex smiles and then speaks.
"An original mage is a mage that awakened naturally and started improving themselves without the assistance of any magical organization, academy, or power behind them."
Lenia was then added.
"Which makes them unusual mage most of the time; they are most of the time lacking knowledge and information of the world of mages, but the thing is because they are natural when it comes to magic and awakened without any outside assistance, they are all talented people."
Andex took a deep breath and then pulled out a black-colored book from his bag.
"Here, take this. This is a book that will give you most of the common knowledge about magic and magic rules. The rule I mentioned is Maverick Rule 4; it basically says that "Mages cannot be interrupted if they are experimenting on a project themselves without a clear reason",
