The two were as though only finding the new versions of themselves in the form of the other's company and ruining that for contemplating what this was or if there really was something to be discussed could as well ruin the fun and expectations about it.

Aerine was more comfortable talking to Lucian when they were alone than when someone was with them. Since she needed to think of her demeanor and watch her words all the time.

Just saying Lucian's name in front of his subordinates could earn a huge reaction; what was more if she talked to him casually? She knew Lucian didn't care, but... Aerine still cared that much.
