Bab 112: You Don't Say

She briefly closed her eyes, then looked at me. "Return to your camp and rest. You'll be better when the sun rises."

"Okay," I said. "And I'll think it was all a dream."

"Could be. Who knows?"

"We've already talked about that."

"Head back to your tent, Earthling. Sleep and dream of strange things."

"Wait, what? Never mind, I don't want to know."

Now that I was back to my senses, the wind felt freezing, especially on my damp legs. The ground was painful under my bare feet. I had to carefully avoid several guards, more than I remembered on my way out.

"She was quite odd."

"Who, Boss?"

"I hope you're kidding, Opal."

"Uhhh."

"I just had a real chat with the Necromancer, Opal. You didn't notice her?"

"Boss, I neither saw nor heard her, or you speaking. You just walked into the river, stood for a bit, and came back."
