Bab 117: Clean It Up

Adjacent to the doorway, a duo of snug chairs were arranged, and Thorne typically took one when he arrived. 

I asked Piers to inform Thorne of my presence and then settled into my office chair to wait.

"Er, boss?"

I let out a soft sigh, recognizing that Thorne had once more slipped in without my awareness. He insists it's accidental—he's just inherently stealthy.

"What's the news, Thorne?"

"Same as what I've already shared with you."

"Fine, let's go spend some dough."

"Both of us?"

"No, stay hidden, just in case things turn sour."

"Understood."

As I exited, I casually swept my fingers through my hair, allowing my arm to brush against the right flap of my cloak to verify that all my gear was secure. With my left hand, I tweaked my collar, double-checking the items on that side as well.
