John nodded and smiled at all. Then he asked them to sit. "Dad, Ma, let's start your marking ceremony."

Ryan pulled Imelda's chair, then he held her hand. They walked to the middle of the field. Ryan was speechless for a while. The bright sunshine enlightened Imelda's face. Her gray hair turned silver under the sunshine. Her eyes only stared at Ryan, full of love and joy. 

They stood face-to-face. Ryan held both Imelda's hands. Love and admiration filled his heart as Imelda could finally be his mate after so many years. 

As Ryan and Imelda only stared at each other, John coughed and said, "I know Ma is stunning, but you should start the marking ceremony, Dad. Then, after the ceremony, you two can gaze at each other all night long."
