Bab 115: Theo

The fire crackled loudly through the quiet area, throwing shadows across the trees. Theo tried hard not to let the movements inspire his paranoia, but it didn’t work as well as he had hoped. It seemed as if the moment he took a step out of the village that his senses were on high alert, worse than they had been, anyway. He was beginning to regret the decision to allow Harmon to talk him into leaving before Neivayka had woken, so she couldn’t stop him.

It suddenly seemed wrong to do this alone. Was this how Neivayka felt when she had gone off on her own? More than likely not, he thought with a chuckle. When Neivayka made a decision, she rarely swayed from it. He guessed it shouldn’t have shocked him that she had come back from the dead. Neivayka probably looked the gods in their eyes and told them she was going to come back.
