Bab 246: Entering the Palace

There were only three servants in Sun Bingchen's residence — an old man, an old woman, and a servant girl.

The old man's surname was Li, and he was married to the old woman while the servant girl's surname was Xu. The three of them were refugees who had met Sun Bingchen earlier in the year and were offered shelter, so they stayed by his side and became his servants.

Sun Bingchen lived a very disciplined and simple lifestyle. Therefore, even upon his return, there was no feast. After a simple meal and giving out a few orders, all of them retired to their own rooms.

Since it was Yan Liqiang's first time at Sun Bingchen's residence, he was given one of the side rooms to sleep in for the night.
