Conrad exhaled. He could feel it as the anger in him slowly slip away as the hug lingered. Even Defiance wasn't in a hurry to let go, she had judged him harshly and she shouldn't have and for that, she was eternally sorry.

"Am I forgiven?" She asked him.

"I guess but I wish to know why? Why is it so difficult for you to take my side?" He asked her and pulled away but Defiance refused to let go of him.

"Ok-ay" Conrad was surprised and he went back to hugging her. He wasn't complaining. He loved holding her.

"Sorry, Conrad…I just feel like with you, another shoe is bound to drop and if I start trusting you, well…" her voice trailed off.

Conrad pulled away immediately, he didn't even give her the option of holding on to him.
