Bab 13: Drak's Inheritance
Lin closed his right hand loosely and began gathering all the fire he could produce at that one point like a ball. The size of the fireball didn't increase; instead, it got darker and darker and darker. "Gather all the fire at a single point into a ball and then release it in one go. I hope this works" The beast blasted him with fire once more; he raised one hand to stop the fire with his lighting while he gathered more flames into his right hand. He gnashed his teeth as he felt his left arm was about to break under the intense pressure.
His bones were creaking madly within his arm; his entire arm began to crack at various points and ooze blood. "Just a little more, just a little more" he pressed his feet into the ground and tried his best to stop the fire with that single hand. "I know how to beat you now, you little s*&^t. Each time you spew fire, it takes about two seconds for you to shut that mouth of yours" He smiled and released the fireball in his hands towards the mouth of the beast.
At that same time, the tail that was headed for him struck him in the chest. His chest immediately received a nasty cut as he barrelled into the wall he was previously slammed into. This time, the rock broke and he went right through it and crashed into another wall in there and fell upon a jade red flat piece of stone resembling an altar. Blood dribbled from his mouth and chest onto the 'altar'.
The beast's mouth that was closed shut now had black flames seeping slowly from it; in the next seconds, its head exploded into a bloody mist creating a mushroom cloud of black fire and dust. The blood of the beast sprayed the rocks that were around. The beast's huge body slammed to the floor raising a cloud of dust as blood spilled from its headless body. The black fire began to ravage the rest of the beast's flesh and in no time, the only thing left was a blue orb-like core.
Blood continued to ooze from Lin's body and mouth onto the altar. The altar was about the size of an average queen size bed in length and four feet high. Lin looked at the altar he was lying on and rolled his eyes to look as far around as he could but there was nothing else apart from the altar. He could not get up and only remained where he was. After paying closer attention to the altar, his eyes bulged out as he was about to scream, "Universal Element stone?". But as soon as the thought crossed his mind, his eyes closed. He had passed out.
Universal element stones, like beast cores, are used to raise one level except they were rare and not as effective as beast cores. One can only use it effectively to level up if they have it in large quantities. To most; they were useless when it came to raising one's level. To blacksmiths, however, they are important treasures useful for making tools and weapons. There were lots of engravings on the sides of the altar that resembled someone dancing.
They were arranged in sequential order and numbered about fifty. As Lin's blood flowed over the engravings, they lit up. His space storage cube mysteriously popped open and the core of the Lightning Element beast Procompsognathus dropped onto the alter. The same mysterious force that caused the cube to open suddenly pulled the blue core of the Fire Element beast Broken Horned Madtsoia to the altar.

Fire and lightning erupted around Lin's body at the same time. Both elements spread to their respective cores simultaneously and wrapped around them. The beast cores began to melt and the elements acted as a bridge which carried the melted cores towards Lin's body. Within a few minutes, the beast cores were gone but the process made Lin's condition much worse than before. His heart was now slowing down due to the strain. His breathing became unsteady and it looked like he was slowly knocking on death's door. The amount of blood flowing out of his wound also increased.

Once again, his body was forced to produce an intense amount of fire and lightning which began to devour the large stone. Just like before, after the absorption finished, his body's condition worsened and he remained unconscious. The engravings that were on the stone became figures of light that hung around Lin.

Lightening and fire began to cackle wildly around Lin's body as the conversion has begun. The once unconscious Lin suddenly opened his eyes and roared to the sky with an ear-piercing scream. He clenched his fist tightly as his muscles were constricting. Several veins bulged out from his skin and could be seen all over his body. The pain was torturous. There wasn't even a moment of pause between his scream.
Somewhere in the canyon, three people were walking by the stream heading in the direction Lin went. They stopped at a place where the ground was smashed. "It looks like he encountered another beast after he crawled in here." The lead guard inspected the scene and commented. He noticed the burn marks ahead and had a cunning smile on his face "The burn marks are recent. He probably hasn't gone too far. If we are lucky, we might be able to capture him without any resistance."
