"Welcome to SDA, I'll now be explaining how the trial will go and all the rules you'd be needing to follow if you want to pass the exam."
"You will all be put into groups that all together you will be taking different evaluations as a group, you will all be tested on all the subjects we will be teaching here."
"Depending on how well you do know that piece of work, you might be accepted into this Academy. Unfortunately, we can only take a handful of people into this school, so about one-fourth of you will make it, the rest will not."
"You can find your groups, exam schedule, and instructors in the school entranceway, go through and look at the sides, there is a billboard on both sides."
All the students here rushed to the doorway to find their groups as me and my friends walked behind the huge crowd.
We finally reached the entrance and saw people already meeting people in their group. I looked around until I found my cover name, along with the instructor I'm with and 3 other people. I'm guessing I gotta go find them, but first I walked to the table of teachers and requested my schedule.
"I'll see you guys after the exam, good luck," I said to my friends. "Alright, bye April!" Summer said.
"No, um June. My name here is Dawn." I whispered. "Oh right, I'm sorry." Summer bowed.
I and my friends laughed before I went my separate way to my first evaluation. I'm hoping the rest of my group will be there, and I won't have to go on a wild goose chase just to find them.
It looks to me my first test will be on literature. It's not the most fun subject but I'll do my best to pass these exams. Should I strive for a perfect score or will that just bring suspicion on me?
You know what? I'm going to go for the top because I bet my friends won't back down either. I reached the literature room following the directions of the hallway signs and found the room for my first exam.
By the time I got there, I found two people already sitting down. One girl with soft brown hair and a guy with a shady looking outfit. It looks to me like they didn't know each other because they weren't talking.
I decided to sit next to the girl and see where she's from, if she was to be able to join the academy I'd at least have made a new friend, even if only at school.
I took the seat beside her and started up a conversation. "Hello, what season are you from?" I asked. "Oh hello, I'm from Autumn, what's your name?" She said.
I had to think before I said anything, so I wouldn't accidentally say my royal name. "I'm Dawn, how about you?"
"My name's Hazel, are you nervous about the exams?" She questioned. I didn't want to come off as cocky and say I'm not worried just because of my royal studies so I just said what any other teen girl would say.
"Ya I'm pretty nervous, I don't know what kind of stuff they'll be evaluating us on," I answered. "That's fair, to be honest, same here." She said
I and Hazel kept our conversation going, getting to know one another until another boy came in. I couldn't believe my eyes. It's that boy I saw with Summer as well as in Nelly's store. I couldn't walk up to him as he knows me so I decided to pretend I didn't see him.
Soon later I checked my watch to see the time and it looked like 15 minutes had passed. Where is our instructor? Maybe people are having trouble trying to find their first evaluation. "Don't you think our adviser is taking a bit too long? That woman a while ago didn't mention when we're starting." Hazel stated.
"Ya, your right," I answered, but not too long after, a man came into our room, looking at a piece of paper with the other hand holding a cup, probably filled with coffee since it is the morning.
"I see everyone is already here, why don't we introduce ourselves. I'm Mr. Maple. How about you?" Our instructor said while pointing to the shady guy on the side.
"I'm Slay." He said. Well, the outfit kind of matched the name. "I'm Hazel and I'm from Autumn." "My name is Dawn." "I'm Hunter."
So Hunter is his name. "Well, now that everyone is somewhat acquainted we can start the first assessment. I will be handing out a paper with several questions you need to answer, as well as write spells and say what they do, ok?" Mr. Maple said.
We all nodded our heads and he started to pass out the sheets. I looked down at my test and saw the same stuff I saw when I was younger, I'm starting to realize how much we had to learn at such a young age, mainly because they didn't want me and my friends taking so long to learn all this stuff because in the future they knew we would have royal duties we needed to do that's more important than this work, it also helped me with some issues on missions.
I wrote the answers with perfect grammar and perfect spelling and responded with the right spell for each explanation. I looked over my responses to make sure everything was fully answered and I would get a perfect mark. "This test will give you about 50 points if you get a perfect score." Maple said.
I remember my sister said her friend went to SDA and the max points available would be 500. So since we'd be getting 50 points there must be 10 different assessments to pass.
"Alright, pencils down, keep your paper on the corner of your desk and I'll come to collect it." Our adviser said. I pushed my test aside and looked at my new friend. I and her smiled at each other in signs that we did our best and looked at Mr. Maple.
He put all of our sheets on the teacher's desk, for later to grade. I hear a ding sound coming from the speaker in our room and soon after I hear the woman from the beginning of the trials.
"Now you should all have finished your first examination so now your instructor shall lead you to your next assessment." She said.
Everyone in the room stood up and headed for the door as Mr. Maple led the way into another room. I never really noticed but this school is very pretty and elegant, quite like the castles in each kingdom, with their colors, white and yellow.
We kept walking and even walked up some stairs and made our way into this thin hallway in between rooms.
Finally, we reached our next evaluation and it looks like we're going to be showing our attacking skills.
"Welcome to the training room for your physical strength. You will be tested on your quick reactions as well as how creative and powerful your attacks are.
There are multiple modes where you can choose how difficult you want this challenge to be. Robot-like things will be coming at you, so take them down as efficiently and fast as possible and maybe put on a show for us." Mr. Maple stated.
"So the modes are breezy, neutral, storm, thunder-storm, and royal."
So in other words, easy, medium, hard, very hard, and expert. I've taken down the strongest villains, and monsters in our kingdom and even my own parents sometimes, rarely but it happens so trust me when I say they were not easy to beat. I think I can take the royal stage on, I mean I am a royal princess after all.
Also judging from the last test, this might be something I can take on about a couple of years ago alone.
"If you choose breezy, you'll gain 10 points, that is if you pass it. For the rest, you just keep adding 10 points. So at the royal stage, you'd gain 50 points."
I can tell the other people in my group were not stunned. They came here prepared, even Hunter. Maybe that's why he went to Nelly's shop before.
"Ok now that you guys understand what's going to happen. Let's see what you've got!"
Let's see how April does and maybe she'll learn more about Hunter. Do you think she'll ace the exam?
Let me know what you think of my story so far! Have a great day!
