"Did you encounter Black Cat on the way." Peter whispered to me as I took my seat next to him.
"Who is Black Cat?" Even though I am pretty sure now who Black Cat is and what her secret identity is, I still want to hear it from Peter before outing her secret and potentially ruining her life. An irrational decision, but a decision I am choosing nonetheless.
"You know- Platinum blonde hair, leather suit with furs, perpetual flirt, expert theif, skilled acrobat and will annoy you to death." He said with a look on his face like he is trying not to think of a rather bad memory.
"What's with the look on your face." Raising an eyebrow I asked curiously.
"She uh... kicked me... in the.. nuts during our first meeting." After debating wheather he should answer me or not, he said embarrassingly while covering his face with his book.
"Pffff..." Kepping my hand on my mouth. I tried to control my seemingly uncontrollable laugh.
"Would you like to share with the class what's so funny Mr. Osborn?" The teacher glared at me.
"Umm... the topic you're teaching is just so funny that it has made me unable to control my laugh." I stood up and said dramatically.
"Oh, you mean how Hitler killed 6 million jews in the holocaust and how he tortured people in the gas chambers."
"Uh...." Few snickers erupted in the classroom at my predicament.
"I'll just shut up and sit down."
"You do that." The teacher said impassively.
I sat down and saw Peter smirking.
"Keep that smirk and I will tell Gwen you have a puppy crush on her." I threatened with a smirk of my own as I saw Peter face gain a red tint.
"I-I don't have a c-crush on her."
"Keep telling yourself that. You had a crush on her ever since we were in 7th grade, I mean you literally asked me if she was an angel after you first saw her."
"Can we just drop this?" His face was gaining a deeper shade of red.
"Who does Black Cat usually target?" I asked him seriously saving him from more embarrassment.
"That's what complicated about her- her target usually consist of corrupt rich people. She doesn't steal from anyone who doesn't deserve it."
"....I see." If this is that case then what was her motive behind stealing from that bank. Not to mention that she didn't steal any money but a pendrive. What was a pendrive doing in a bank vault in the first place?
Glancing at her from across the room I saw her looking back at me with a face devoid of any emotions and her gaze piercing through me.
"Great work. Not even a full month in and I already have my identity compromised." I mumbled incoherently to myself.
"Huh? Did you say something?"
"Nothing. How good are you at hacking?" If I wanted answers then I had to know what was inside the pendrive because I don't think Felicia will tell me even if I begged her.
"Not...good. What is this all about?"
"Had a run-in with a few thugs. I wanted to annoy them by hacking into their computer."
"..If you say so." Lying tonPeter didn't exactly felt good but if I wanted to deal with all this pendrive mess without outing Felicia's identity then this was the best course of action.
Time seemed to flow by very slowly as I had already read the entire syllabus beforehand.
During this time I joked around with Peter and there were some occasional glances between Felicia and me that seemed to scream 'I know your secret.' Lunch break finally happened as students ran to get out of this boring class.
"Meet me on the rooftop." Felicial whispered while walking past me. Shortly after her departure Gwen came towards us and asked us to join her for lunch like usual.
"I can't come. Why don't you two go and enjoy your little lunch date without me being a third wheel." To avoid them asking where I was going, I... used their feelings toward each other. The strategy seemed to have worked seeing that the both of them were blushing profoundly.
"It's not like that!" Gwen yelled blushing while Peter turned away from us hiding his face. He probably wants to punch me right now.
"Whatever you say, dense and denser." I walked away from them waving and towards the rooftop ignoring Peter's glare and Gwen's denibility towards their relationship.
Opening the rooftop's gate, I saw Felicia sitting while leaning against the railing and patting the spot next to her inviting me to sit next to her. I sighed and sat down next to her.
"Nice to meet the real you." She said smiling as she eyed me.
"Likewise."
"This explains a lot actually. Your moral sense of justice, you always sleeping and ditching classes the last month- the same time as Scarlet Spider debuted."
"Sorry about the black eye."
"It's not the first time a man's hit me."
"I am sorry to hear that."
It's weird seeing a shy girl I had came to know the last few month act like this. It's like
I never even knew her. Which is the her?
"Don't worry. I am not going to expose you...yet. I am curious about something though. I do what I do for money and thrill but you're... Michael Osborn. What's your excuse?"
"Someone has to be the good guy."
"I suppose that makes me a bad girl?" She asked coyly.
"Well, aren't you?"
We sat in silence for a few moments after this staring at nothing in particular. Both thinking about what we were going to say next.
"You have something that belong to me, I want it back." She said as she leaned closer to me. Her mouth was inches apart on my ear.
"Must be important. What's in the drive?" I asked while trying not be flustered at our close proximity.
"I dunoo." I must have felt seeing that annoying smirk on her face.
"You don't know what you have stolen?"
"It's not my business to know. My clients don't know who I am and I don't know who they are. And if they don't get what they want there will be consequences." She said seriously for the first time.
"Alright. You want my help? You got it. What can I do?"
"You can give me back my drive."
"Yeah. Not happening."
"Look, I don't have a lot of time. My employer is expecting me to drop it off."
"Where?" I asked narrowing my eyes at her.
"Just give it back."
"The adress. NOW."
"NO, give me the drive." Both of us were now glaring at each other, ready to engage in a fight.
"You're just going to have to trust me." Sighing, I was the first one to back down from the argument.
"I don't do trust.... I guess I am screwed either way... New York docks, warehouse 123." Finally gave me the adress, she stood up and begin to walk away from.
"My contact... He'll be expecting a cat not a spider." Giving me a last cheshire grin, he exited the rooftop.
To be continued...
